What's for dinner Tuesday?

Tonight we're having the salmon, corn casserole and Thai cucumbers we were supposed to have last night Harry said he'd rather have cheese and fruit. So we had Brie with sliced apples and pears for dinner last night. At least I didn't have to think about dinner tonight!

Sue, both your dinner and Norm's sound delicious. Hope you are staying warm. It seems the worst of the weather is over and the nation will get back to half-way decent temperatures. Pam, yes I can taste one speck of pepper in a dish. Normally, I love pepper. I can't remember whether it was the chemo or radiation that caused it, but I do know my taste buds are whacky now. Sure hope they go back to normal soon. Panera's broccoli/cheese is my fav! Raven, what can I say but "YUM". You are such a good cook! Laura, I'm surprised you are able to eat after Glenda fed you, but a little chicken stir-fry never hurt anyone :-) Shirley, I haven't tried the chipped beef. It looks like that polar vortex is on it's way out so we will all be happy to get out of the house come the weekend! Kittiemom, enjoy the pot pie! Jasdip, how nice of them to invite you to their Christmas celebration. I could eat my weight in baklava. It is just too delicious!!

That sounds so good, terri! Actually, everyone's supper (or lunch) sounds good. Robert asked for oven baked chicken pieces again. I basted the legs and thighs with a doctored BBQ sauce (added tobacco and apple vinegar) for the first half, then made a glaze out of that plus apricot preserves. It is sooooooo good! Sweet, sour, and spicy. Also made a batch of cheese biscuits and my cole slaw. He was a happy man! I'm always glad when he actually asks for something in particular....he helps with supper, by the way. He likes kitchen duty.

That pizza burger sounds scrumptious with mac and cheese, Tami! But I'd probably go with your hamburger. With a thick slice of onion and lots of mayo!!! Cheryl, I tried rendering lard once. It was okay but not anything special for the toil! I do love me some fried taters. Terri, I haven't tried roasting cauliflower but I've seen pictures on Pinterest and it looks good. I do like roasted Brussels sprouts. They get all brown and yummy! Kittiemom, you are eating waaay to healthy :-) That sounds good.

We went to the club tonight to finish up our minimum since we leave for Florida on Saturday. DH had a half-price hamburger since it's half price night tonight and my friend and I had a small Caesar salad and an appetizer of risotto and wild mushrooms. Just a perfect size dinner. It was beautiful here todayÃ¢ÂÂ¦in the 70's. Played my first 18 holes of golf since November. Shot 103 which is not great but I didn't expect much since I haven't had a club in my hand since early November and I didn't even get over early enough to hit some balls. The putting wasn't so great either and that's the best part of my game. Just a taste of the good weather to come.

Glenda, no mashed potatoes? You sure have will power! I need mashed potatoes with fried chicken (or so my brain says).

Sue, I made vegetable soup a few weeks ago and have two bags sealed in the freezer. I'm hoarding them :-) Not much better than that!

Growing up, mother fried chicken and served mashed potatoes with a well in the center filled with English peas.

Last time I had mashed potatoes, my son invited me, 2 years ago, to dinner and his wife prepared garlic mashed potatoes.

Oh but you must have gravy with that fried chicken and mashed potatoes, throw on the peas too if you want. If I can't have gravy I don't want the mashed potatoes. :)

Steak with onions, buttered corn and green beans. Also made chili mac for the kids for tomorrow and my lunches.

Tonight was 'waddle home' night. Went to the Amish house for dinner. Menu tonight was baked chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes/gravy, creamed peas, a coleslaw salad, homemade white and wheat bread, tapioca pudding w/choc pcs, homemade grape jam, pumpkin pie and raisin cream pie.

I asked for their bread recipe which they very graciously wrote off for me. I've never been much of a bread maker so don't know how I'll do with instructions of: add as much white flour as needed to have it so it's not sticky anymore. They also told me where I can go to find bread pans that do NOT have a nonstick surface.

Diced potatoes, smothered in a beef stroganoff sauce. Pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Call me different. I'm not a mashed potatoes and gravy person. I take my mashed potatoes without gravy.

Give me gravy on a biscuit and I'm set, but it's gotta be sawmill gravy.

Left over turkey, mashed potatoes and acorn squash that my brother sent home with me after Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, and a butter tart for dessert.
