Being as I was delivering my yearly 2 loaves of pumpkin bread to my advisor, and Irondale Cafe/Whistlestop was in the same direction, I just had to stop and have lunch.

patti, I chose the warmest biggest piece of cornbread in your honor, buttered from corner to corner, and ate that piece just for YOU! :o) Plus carrot and raisin salad and fried chicken livers.

We're grabbing one of the few nice days we've had recently, and hubby is outside barbecuing some sausages.

I'm stir-frying veggies to have with them, and rice.

Don't know! I am going to a Chef's Cooking Class this evening. I don't know what he is preparing/teaching. I'm just looking forward to enjoying.

Dinner was cube steaks, baked potatoes & green beans.

Patti, I know it is hard to be patient but right now that is the name of the game. It is good that you are keeping yourself busy cooking & baking. Just hang in there, better days are coming.

They say rain, wind & a chance of a tornado all day tomorrow & we have to go to Nashville to the surgeon. Just hope the heavy rain comes in the afternoon as the appt. is at 8:00.

I grabbed some homemade spaghetti sauce out of the freezer. I put it over some rice I had already cooked. Added a slice of bread and that was it.

Shirley

Rainy dreary day here today. Makes for a dreary mood.
Dinner will be an easy one, boneless buffalo wings and oven fries.

Patti, I know you're probably sick of them, but those root beer floats sure sound good to me. DH decided we should take a drive to Cape Hatteras today. An hour and a half of pure boredom! After about 70 minutes, DH said, "this is not fun" I laughed because I had just been thinking it but didn't want to hurt his feelings. He thought it would be beautiful looking at the ocean but all we could see was miles of telephone poles, giant mounds of sand and some bushes.

When we got back we stopped for a late lunch...I decided to have breakfast since I hadn't had any. two eggs over medium, hash browns and corned beef hash. I saved the biscuit which was huge, and that's what I'm having for dinner.

What I call "nacho salad" for myself. Layered: tortilla chips, chili, shredded cheese in the middle of a large plate. Microwave for 1 min. Surround the plate with salad. Add sour cream, salsa and sliced olives.

He will have leftovers.

I just stuck a chicken in the oven, some green beans or broccoli...that will probably be about it. Maybe some fruit or a small salad. I'm going to yoga right after dinner.

Beef, bean and cheese burritos and Spanish rice.

I grilled some large portabella mushrooms yesterday and will be making a sandwich on ciabatta bread with herb aioli, havarti cheese and arugula. Portabellas are so meaty that I don't miss eating a real burger.

For lunch I fixed potato soup for Cheryl and me. I did not want much this evening so just ate some of my leftover tapioca pudding. Hope you feel better tomorrow Patti.

Sue

breakfast!

Made some of my mixed rice and grains (with a few extra stuff added), onions, a can of chopped tomatoes/peppers. Served it with chicken breasts, wilted spinach, and cheese.

Pork loin...already done..after this bike ride..I will put on taters...and green beans for roasting..

I will reheat the roast in some gravy.

Homemade beef barley soup.....it was so tasty we didn't need anything else.
But I spotted two more tomatoes on the volunteer vine next to the compost pile today. They are starting to ripen.
And the CSA box will be delivered tomorrow so things are looking good for the rest of the week.
