Food wise: I love chili and grilled cheese

Colors: black with brown

loafers and jeans

snacks: enjoy sweet and salty

the beach and an ice cold beer

sausage and pancakes

weiner roast and s'mores

autumn and hiking

dr pepper with salted peanuts

ginger ale and ice cream float

Hallelujah! People matching colors to their houses! I'm not alone! Though I often think I am alone, when I drive through MY neighborhood. DH thinks I have a strange obsession, hearing every year; "Nothing yellow in front of the house," "Nothing yellow in front of the house," repeatedly. My house has a combo of brick colors; very hard to find anything that goes well. It's a dark brick red, burgundy cast, with various bricks tinted with a sandy overlay and a dark charcoal grey-black overlay. Trim is greyed down Williamsburg blue. I've been doing very dark cool reds, but am in a rut. I agree with the other posters: a good pop of color is what you need! I would pick something in either the fuscia range or the dark orange range. Fuscia would be easier, more choices to find. Orange would be harder, though there are peachy-salmon impatiens, I haven't seen any that would be dark enough to make a good contrast with the beige.

proudgrma, love your opening combo. Very soothing. wonberherwits, the lavender and catmint combo is gorgeous. proudgrma, the garden with the annuals and perennials is my "anything goes" garden' I never put the annuals in the same place, I always try a new plant or two (I just planted cuphea this evening for the first time) and if there's an inch of room, I shove in something else! My other gardens are a bit more orderly. sinai, the monarda/echinacea combo was a very happy accident. When I bought Raspberry wine, no local nurserys were carrying it, so I bought it on the internet solely based on the photo. It's turned out to be a fantastic plant and I love the color. This year I'm planting Gaura "Siskiyou pink" and Dianthus "artic fire" in front of the coneflower. I'm hoping all four plants together make a great combo.

JayCo -- its amazing the colors a vomit's worth of cheesewhiz(from cheesesteaks)beer and nachos with the works can turn. Guess you've never been in Philly during the Mummer's parade. The funny thing is that in painting as in life, bright red and pink seem hard to combine well. Im not sure why but they are, or at least I find them so. Dark red is much easier to use with pink. And when orange and pink are combined it works best if the pink is a warm pink. A lilac pink and orange can be just so so wrong. Somehow Ive miscalculated so that Ive got magenta pink, red and orange all in my front yard right now. Its a good thing I love my garden because I almost think its works, but then, as they say, love is blind. Springcherry

I adore sharp cheddar cheese and pickle sandwiches with mayo! I didn't think that was weird? I like my bread slightly toasted too! And the more garlic in the pickle recipe, the better! I will slice the big ones and just lay them on! Would saltines loaded with cottage cheese and strawberry jam be a weird food combo? I love eating my crackers that way and often have them for dinner when it is getting late and I haven't eaten yet! And, would big thick slices of Braunschweiger and thin sliced red onion on toasted rye that has lots of butter or in case no butter, some mayo, so would that be a weird food combo? LOVE that sandwich. But, I thought it was normal. My daughter and my niece have to have malted milk balls mixed in with their hot popcorn at the movies, like in the same tub! Makes my stomach crawl and itch at the same time when they eat it.. gag.

Socks: Is the cold milk because tacos are generally too spicy for you?

Mashed potatoes + mashed potatoes (ok, i'll toss a little serving of vegetables in there just to be "good"!)

Sloppy Joes + gherkin pickles on the side

Salmon during the summer/spring + fresh squeezed limes in the blender with ice (hold the sugar!)

Burger + onion rings

Salty + sweet, just like Glenda! -- I mean her combination idea! Tho maybe you just could be part salty, part sweet in your personality, Glenda -- I like that in a person!
(My choice is usually a Trader Joe's mixed nuts/butterscotch pieces concoction called Temptation, but if I make it myself, I'll use the tiny Trader Joe's peanut-butter cups.)
