patti...I moved out of the house 6 months ago, into this one. Took months to sort out what to take, what to trash, give stuff away, and sell some. The house is now empty.
It then took a while to get work done on the house that was necessary to sell it these days. It's been on the market for 4 weeks.

Just got an email....things are moving fast. Agreements signed, inspections scheduled for Saturday.

I'll keep you in my thoughts on Saturday.

What I have found out is...there is mortgage money out there, and money is being lent.

Well I have good news the mortgage company accepted the offer on our home as a short sale. The bad news is we have to move by the 29th!!! OMG I've been thinning things out for a while know but OMG! I'm not ready...yet. BUT...the home inspection is on Wednesday it could fall apart.

msmarion...glad to hear things look good for you getting out from under.
Just do what I did in the end...toss everything into rubbermaid containers and save the rest of the thinning for after you get to your new place. I found it amazing that things that seemed to be "keepers" in the old house, just didn't mean that much after they were moved.

We just got back from the house, all that's left now is a couple of containers of books. I got so upset at Tom's insistence that I just trash them all...I left them there. I'll go get them on Monday :)
