If you have a family tree on Geni.....

Can anyone do whatever they like with it?

My cousin started our family tree on Geni.com a number of years ago, and he and I have added a lot to it. This week I've received several Geni emails saying that the husband of a very distant cousin (in South Africa) has been making matches and adding links to individual profiles. These include links to the S/S Death Index on my husband's and daughter Gillian's profiles, and link to another genealogy website on Gillian's. All the links require that you become a member before you can read anything on those sites.

I suppose it's ungenerous of me, and perhaps unsophisticated from a genealogy standpoint, but it bothers me that anyone can come along and alter my immediate family's profiles however they like.

Is this standard procedure?
