This is a great snap. I love the clothes pins, not the spring type you notice. The clothesline post is also very different and you see the clothespin bag hanging there and the second line of clothes in the background. Looks like your cousin has been helping toss the pins all over the lawn and your aunt is busy picking them up. Again, great photo!

I love this picture. More and more I am becoming so thankful for the people of the past that thought to take such everyday photographs. What a gift they are now.

Sure am glad I don't have to hang clothes on the line, especially in a dress. I love your old pictures. I may have mentioned that I got a ton of them from my mother's house. I also have about a gazillon slides. I just ordered a slide scanner and whenever I finally get this house ready to rent I hope to have time to scan some of the slides and the old photos. In the meantime I will just enjoy yours.

I still have my mothers clothes pin bag that she moved along the line when hanging clothes.

That's a great picture...Not only does she have on a dress with all those buttons but her sandals have heels. That's quite the attire for laundry day.

I just came in from hanging clothes on the line, no diapers and no dress and sandals either.

Wonderful photo. It does bring back memories of my Mother hanging clothes outside. Those buttons down the back of the dress also reminded me of one of my Mom's dresses - it was a red sheath and the buttons on the back were decorative and there was a zipper on the side of the dress beneath the armpit. I can still remember watching her wriggle into that dress and of course there was a full slip beneath it.

That bucket was probably the pot she boiled the diapers in. I remember my mother talking about boiling diapers to get them disinfected when I was little.

I love this picture too. I have read the comments...and keep going back to it too. I would love to have a clothes line...if not just for my sheets.

Add my name to the list, too! What a wonderful picture! Our dryer died and I've had to hang our clothes to dry. I love the smell of the clothes when I bring them in from the fresh air! However, many of them are so darn stiff! Especially towels. Very scratchy.

We will be buying a new dryer soon.

A great picture! Look at the size of thoses diapers! Wow..they sure have come a long way huh? I take so many pictures that my family makes fun of me...but who do they come to when they need one????? That's right...granny, auntie, sister, mom....ME! Let them laugh and make fun all they want, I have ton's of memories to share someday! I always say you can't take too many pictures, especially these day with the digital technology....can't get any cheaper with no developing! I love this picture.....treasure it!

I realized one of the reasons this photo is so special is because of the slightly out of focus aspect. To me, it indicates motion which brings the scene alive.

Tell your cousin Barbara that we are enjoying her 15 minutes of fame. LOL
