Laundry Day, 1944 (pic)

This is one of my dad's photos, taken in spring or summer of 1944. The focus isn't the best, but I thought it was interesting. Look how my Aunt Elsie dressed to do the laundry! How did she get all those buttons fastened down her back? I'm guessing that pail was a diaper pail, since it had a lid.

My cousin Barbara was her first child. Barbara grew up to become an airline stewardess and then an artist. She was widowed two years ago. She's slimmed down a lot since this picture was taken. :-)
