How my cousin Terry is being remembered

I'm sure I mentioned here that my cousin Terry, who died last month, was an active volunteer in her community. She and her DH didn't join a lot of clubs or serve on many boards, but they made a big impact in several areas.

The local Extension office has organized a blood drive in Terry's memory for the outreach and beautification projects she worked on as a Master Gardener.

She and her DH spearheaded the creation of a history kiosk for visitors to learn facts about the area, and that kiosk is being renamed in her honor.

Her photo will appear on a calender that a local nonprofit is producing for 2009.

And this week someone donated $100,000 to a small museum in Terry's memory. The main floor will be renamed in her honor, and her DH, who can make anything out of wood, is donating the cabinetry for that floor.

All these things show her family and me how much she was loved and appreciated in her time on this earth. I'm so glad.

Susan
