Thanks so much for all of your nice comments! It sounds like many of us have similar tastes. To answer your questions: - the dimensions of our island are: 11' long by 38" wide (at narrow part) and 60" wide at rounded part. We did such a big island because we wanted to eliminate the need for a breakfast area. So we eat most quick meals here and do dinner in the dining room - we got the sconces at Restoration Hardware - they are electric. - this is terrible, but I can't remember our front door brand... i'll look through our files & get back to you - the paint color in the mud room is 'svelte sage' by sherwin williams. I think that is it... thanks again for all of your nice messages!

New House Exterior - Update with Pictures!

Okay here's the comparison from the older colors to what it looks like now. Remember, this job wasn't so much about changing the house color per se, it was really about replacing the old Masonite with new James Hardie fiber cement siding. However, new black shutters and new paint on the door were simple fixes to change things up to give it an updated look. Sure wish I could normalize the colors on both pics so the new one doesn't look so yellow and the older one doesn't look too blue. Oh well. You get the idea. June 2007: June 2009

I didn't understand everyones comments until I realized you posted a link to photo bucket. You did great, Moni. House looks to be in very good condition unless that was all the elbow grease you were talking about. Hope you have a fun time furnishing it. Try Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat Restore any check out flea markets, garage sales, etc. All you need is a good eye and imagination. We have a lot of resale consignment shops here and one could furnish a house beautifully with better made furniture than you can buy today for a lot fewer$$! I wish you the best in your new home.

You can find some arrows on the lower right of the Bing page after it loads - use the back arrow to see previous days pictures!

If your browser cooperates (sometimes IE does not) it will have moving specters on it!!
