Thank you for the picture of a peaceful summer day. Your working hours certainly don't give much of a chance to enjoy it. Two hours on the road each way doesn't sound so nice.

GARDEN VISIT/POTLUCK Date: Sunday October 2nd, 2011- RAIN OR SHINE. Please contact me for address. Arrive 10:00 AM (Please park across road on Sedgwick. Walk around garden, socialize, etc. Crape myrtles, palms, elephant ears, broadleaved evergreens, perennials, etc. potluck 12 noon ... POT LUCK: Please bring a lunch dish (with serving utensil) to enjoy and share. Bring a chair if you have one (extra chairs here if needed). Plates, plastic silverware, napkins, cups, and iced tea & water will be provided. There will be afternoon visits to nearby public plantings of hardy palms, etc. This will be an enjoyable day filled with gardens, good plant talk, and delicious food. Feel free to bring a friend.

Carol, I'm sure you knew I wasn't rushing you to get the packages mailed. Whether they arrive this week, next week or anytime thereafter really doesn't matter to me. I just wanted to share how excited I am about all the goodies to come. Reminds me of being a kid at Christmas. Remember how fun it was to count down how many days were left before Santa came to visit? You always knew the exact number and were beside yourself in anticipation. Since this is my first seed swap with the group and knowing how generous everyone can be, there is just no way to anticipate what's to come other than tons of seeds! Makes me salivate like Pavlov's pooch. Don't worry about balancing out the packets for me. I don't expect to get back the same amount I sent. I had extras, we had newbies so I sent plenty to go around. Thanks for all the effort you put into the swap. I know you work very hard to make wish lists a reality. Lynn

This year they're taking a break over the winter. "This will be the final Landscape Message for 2011, thanks for a great season! The message will be on hiatus in January and February 2012. New messages wil be available beginning in March of 2012. To receive immediate notification when the next update is posted, be sure to join our e-mail list." I'm on their e-mail list already, so I'll be notified in March and I'll post that one. It's a great resource and a portal to all sorts of interesting and useful links. Claire
