Dodged another bullet!

My 8.5 year old GE fridge started giving me fits - no ice or water dispensing, making odd ticking noises, etc.

I figured that the poor thing had bitten the dust, and started looking for a replacement. To the tune of $3000! for a ss french door model.

I called GE for a repair call, and was lucky to get one for this morning - early.

He just left, after replacing the control panel. Which is another name for the circut board. And it cost "only" $350 - a LOT better than 3K!.

The repairman told me the vent, or whatever it's called, was completely clogged with cat hair, and probably burned out the control panel. I never pulled the fridge out to do that - my bad.

So, Folks, remember to clean of those vents a couple of times a year!

The other bullet I dodged was thinking my laptop was dead - thanks to Office Depot's "repair" person. I brought it to a local shop, and got it looked at for ZERO dollars. They told me there was nothing wrong with the computer, and I had only not fully connected the cord for recharging.

So far this month, I've saved about $3500!
