Bathroom progress? One step forward, two steps back

The "Stellar Night" vanity top arrived yesterday. It's beyond gorgeous. It's black quartz with bits of crushed mirror and it "sparkles like a holiday". It's also unusable.

As soon as it was lifted off the truck, I saw they hadn't drilled the hole for the faucet behind the sink opening. After the delivery man left I realized they also hadn't drilled the slots under the top where the sink clips are attached.

I called the dealer; he called the stone fabricator, and now I'm waiting for them fix the counter top this afternoon. After reading about a granite-fix disaster on the Kitchen Forums I asked the fabricator if they'd be able to do the extra drilling outside. "Well, we can try." I rephrased my concern and told them that due to my lung problems, they would be doing any additional cutting, drilling, and polishing outside, or they could take the top back to their workshop and finish it there. (Over 100 miles round trip.)

The two vanity cabinets also arrived yesterday! I haven't yet opened the crates to inspect them. I'm saving that excitement for this afternoon. One disaster at a time is my limit.

My additional concerns are the supplier sent one driver to deliver these items without the necessary tools.

Problem 1...He was supposed to be here at 2 p.m. I had the furnace guy scheduled to be here at 4 p.m. to measure the toe kicks and install the furnace heater register. It's going to come up from the basement, through the floor, and be vented out from the front of the vanity toe kick. Since the vanity wasn't here in time, no telling when I'll get the heating guy back. It's taken three months to get him to come look at the bathroom, much less commit to doing an hour's work.

Problem 2...The cabinets and counter top are extremely heavy maple and quartz. He did not have a helper to get them off the truck; he did not have a hand-truck or cart to help maneuver them. We have awkward steps up to the house doors. Thankfully, I had Wes' hand truck here. Wes got home just as he started unloading them and could help. The guy was coming down the ramp wrong and nearly dumped one of the cabinets. Would have done had Wes not been there to intervene.

Now I'm off to face today's challenges.
