Another piece of free advice: when you use an electric popcorn popper, it's a good idea to put the lid on it before you leave the room.

Another lesson....
Make sure you put the filter in the coffee maker before you add the coffee.

I guess you expect everyone to add yeast to the bread in the breadmaker too.

And while you're at it, be sure to put the top knob back on the blender after you've done adding the smoothie ingredients ...

And when baking a spaghetti squash in the microwave, be sure to puncture it often and deeply with a fork, otherwise it is sure to explode. You don't want to have to clean all those strands and seeds that will coat the walls, ceiling and floor of said microwave. Not to mention digging them out of the vent holes. Shoot right in there they will! Experience is a good teacher!

And of course don't forget to put the coffee grounds in, or forget and leave the old ones in there... Recycling is fine for some things, not all.

I can so relate Kat! LOL No fun having to grab a mop that early in the morning.

And turn off the oven before you go to bed,then find out you didn't by accident when you got up at 3 AM to get a glass of water.Yeah,last night! I can also relate to not putting the water in the pot!
Oh,and be sure to watch the "melting" pot when making home made laundry soap! Not a pleasant smell and heck to clean off the stove!

I was reading these to my DM's cousin over the phone. She giggled at ya'all then told me about my G-G Uncle who was suppose to be watching an old-fashioned pressure cooker. He leaned his chair back and drifted off, the next thing anyone knew the cooker had blown it's top and the chicken was stuck to the ceiling. His only reported comment, looking at the chicken: I thought we done killed that thing once.

Lesson: Make sure your pot watcher is not sleepy.

I made chicken stock this weekend, and laughed thinking about the time I read where someone had poured the stock into the strainer. Yep all the good stock sailing down the drain, and stuck with the garbage in the strainer.
Easy to do!

How about this one? Don't forget to put the lid on one of those pancake/shaker thingy's before you shake it.You know ...the mix is in a jar,just add water?And especially don't do it at work in front of people....yes,I made pancakes at work this morning.

Nan lived for her tea. I remember the first time I made it for her, I poured the water into the pot.
She poured it and it was just hot water. I told her it just has to steep a little longer. I'd forgotten to put in the teabag.

Do not stamp your foot for emphasis when making beef stew in the pressure cooker -- although most exhaust fans benefit from being dismantled and cleaned now and then.

The reason your microwaved dish of oatmeal is just a rim of crust is because you pressed the 'minute' button one time too many.

Unless you *want* to mop your laundry room floor every time you do a load of wash, make sure the laundry tub is empty before the washer discharge hose empties into it. (Hark! What's that 'waterfall' sound?)
