I agree they should have them on their menu. We picked up some on Saturday while out and about and went to Cheryl's and ate them. We had to wait after we placed our order for them to get them ready. McD's was really busy.

I like them. I had one as soon as I found out they're back. I wish they would cut back on the sauce a bit.

I read something that makes sense although I'm not sure if it's true. They use pork trimmings to make the McRibs and if McDs made too great of a demand for pork trimmings, the price would go up. By only bringing the McRib back every now and then, they can offer it at a reasonable price.

I agree...McDonald's needs to bring them back and let them stay on the menu for good! I love them!

I love love love them and wanted to get one this weekend but did not happen.

I have found there is one of the Hungry Man frozen dinners that has the same rib patty(2) in bbq sauce plus it has mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and a brownie. If you heat it up then take the patties and put them and the sauce in a bun YUMMY GOOD.

I had found just the frozen patties somewhere one time, maybe sams or costco, and bought them, they were ok not as good as the McRib though.

The McXecutives have said they have no intention of making it a regular menu item because they want the cult following to stampede for it when they occasionally bring it back. It's a marketing ploy.

The McRib has nothing to do with ribs. It's ground pork shoulder, formed to look like a, well, what they call a rack of ribs then topped with sauce, onion & pickles. They've sounded appealing to me lately with all the advertising they've been doing but somehow nearly $3 for a sausage pattie is a bit hard to swallow. I like a pork sausage sandwich and have been eating them for decades and I like BBQ sauce on sandwiches too but I can microwave a brown & serve pattie (Aldi has great ones, and about the size of a McMuffin pattie), put it on a bun (or better yet a toasted English Muffin or a soft bagel) with some sauce easy enough. That was breakfast often during the winter. But maybe some day I'll try one to see what the hoopla is all about.

It's interesting that they said they could put it out much cheaper if they used a conventional sausage pattie on a round bun but then the hype of Mc"Rib" would be gone and likely that's a big part of the following. Plus being a limited time thing it's still a draw to get people into the habit of McDining McRegularly.

It's actually one marketing ploy I don't mind since McD's in the only fast food place in town that we can eat at. With the boys, I am usually there at least twice a month. I get bored with the regular menu. I wish more items would show up on the menu like this. I wish they'd bring back chicken fajitas like this but I don't think they have a cult following.

Last time (about a year ago?) I'm pretty sure the McRib was only $1.99. I think it's 40 cents more here this time - not a bad price compared to the rest of the menu.

Thewy are $2.99 here in Long Island. Last night I picked up 4-hubby ate 2, spent the rest of the night back and forth to the bathroom. DD 23 and I had one each-we know not to push our luck. But I do enjoy a little "junk" once in a while.

On-Cor sells frozen ones similar to McRib in the freezer section. There are 6 in a box for $2.00. The box is a 1 pound 12 ounce one. Might be good to have on hand if you like them.

I have bought those that is the ones I was trying to think of! To me they were just ok.

McRibs taste nothing like sausage. I like sausage patties too on breakfast sandwiches but totally different stuff.

I have not been to a MCDonalds in years, well not since I moved here. I may make a run this week!

The Top Secret recipe probably tastes better than a McRib. The McRib has no rib meat in it. As I said, it's ground pork shoulder, Ground pork. Many call ground pork "sausage meat". Sausage recipes are as varied as chili recipes and go from basic and bland to spicy, to anything in between and beyond.

Now I'm getting hungry for a shredded rib sandwich...

I found that out today when I called my hubby to see what he might want for a quick dinner and he said McRib is back at McDonalds, so that is what we had.

Reportedly the sandwich's ingredients include "a flour-bleaching agent used to make the soles of shoes... and foamed plastics like gym mats." Hungry for more? Mixed in with all of those slivered onions, dill pickles and tangy barbecue sauce, there are roughly 70 other ingredients, with the bun alone containing 34, jam packed with chemicals that we can't pronounce. And then there's the "meat"...

The McRib, at its heart, is, well... heart. The slab of "restructured meat product" consists of salt (980 mg, more than half your recommended daily intake) and pig innards, like tripe, heart, and scalded stomach.
