A storm cloud lit by the setting sun. It looks like a cartoon chipmunk riding a dolphin.

While photographing a cemetery yesterday, I came upon this unexpected sight. It was sad . . . the deer had a badly broken leg and appeared to have internal damage, undoubtedly hit by a car. But somehow she made it into the cemetery, where she died. If I hadn't found the deer, which hadn't been dead long, I don't know when it would have been found. The cemetery is old, and I don't imagine it attracts many visitors. A stone wall surrounds it, so the deer wasn't visible from the road.

After my morning bike ride, I stopped at home and got my panniers, and went to the grocery store. Here is my bike all loaded up: and here is what I bought, all but the tomatoes, I had them in my camelbak and forgot to put them out for the picture. Holland America Lines has among their 'alternative' dining spots a restaurant named Canaletto. Italian dining. $15 each. They also offer Pinnacle Grill, a steak and seafood venue. $29.00 each. Pinnacle is very popular and, in my opinion, somewhat expensive for what one gets. Canaletto is more intimate and a good value. We prefer Canaletto. For our upcoming 42-day cruise, they will offer Osso Bucco. Yum!

found this plum tree at the lake, while walking, picked all, even though I had to shake the tree to get the rest off. :) that's the size of them strained them after cooking them with the pit in, cause the pit was ssssoooooooo hard to remove in the raw plum cooked this canned the finished product. It is oh so yummy! Now, I wish I had smaller jars on hand... but I will next year. ;)

Thanks! It was a beautiful day, 21Ã¯Â¿Â½C and humid. Very unusual for this time of the year!! It was cloudy with sunny breaks so it wasn't really a storm cloud, what we call a "mackerel sky" in Newfoundland.

Fall at Brady's Bend on the Allegheny. Always a pretty scene, but especially in the fall.
