Wow, do I know that a broken toe hurts. I was a senior in highschool, running laps in gym to warm up, and was elbowed by a boy running past me. I nearly fell flat on my face but caught myself and jarred my shoulders. My toe didn't hurt then, but my shoulders did. Then I went to play badminton and my big toe just suddenly started hurting like an Acme anvil from the cartoons had fallen on it. Well, it was first period, I was stupid, and the gym teacher already hated me for being an asthmatic and having to sit out sometimes. So I played badminton. My toe went numb. I went to all my classes like nothing was wrong... but after school when I took my shoe off, my toe was swollen nearly double and was nice pretty bruised colors. Mom took me to the ER, it was broken in several spots. I got a nice shoe to wear, heh. It still gives me problems, and likely always will. Anyway, glad you are feeling better.

3/4 lb. penne or other short tubular pasta (1 pound) 1/4 tsp. salt 3tbsp. olive oil 2 tbsp. red onion (finely chopped) 1 tbsp. garlic (finely chopped) 2 tsp. roasted chili paste 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 cup coconut milk 1.5 tbsp. Thai fish sauce 1 cup whipping cream 4 sundried tomatoes, packed in oil drained and cut into 1/4 inch strips 4 sprigs fresh basil (optional) Cool pasta in abundant boiling salted water until al dente, about 7 minutes. Drain. Heat olive oil in heavy saucepan over high heat. Add onion and garlic and stir until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Add chili powder and chili paste and stir 1 minute. Add coconut milk and fish sauce and bring to a boil. Add cream and return to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 min., sirring. Increase heat to medium, add cooked pasta and stir until well coated with sauce. Transfer to platter and top with sundried tomatoes. garnish with basil and serve. 4 servings.

Ah, Golddust, you do not want to do what I did (or didn't do). This is an 1850 house, and the plumbing pictured is the only option. In order to pull it off, the tub needs to be raised up. Before the remodel/repainting, it sat on four ugly wood blocks (courtesy of a former owner). My contractor decided to build a more attractive platform. Nice idea, but then unrelated events were set into motion and he ended up quitting my remodel and going into another business. This was a blow because he did a great job on other areas of the house, and the very rural area in which I live isn't exactly overrun with reliable workers. Since then I've approached two other contractors about finishing the job. One sounds like he might actually do it.....one of these days. In addition to the plumbing/platform, the room needs new wiring over the sink, and cabinet hardware installed. Meanwhile, after a lot of time spent looking forward to taking a bath (yes, we have a stall shower, thank heavens), my hip arthritis has progressed to the point where I'm no longer able to sit on the floor, and I have serious doubts about my ability to get in and out of that tub. So the way it looks now, it's possible the tub will never be usable in my lifetime--or, if it is, I won't use it. That's the long answer. :-)

Most definately let it go. Been awhile since I've been on here, but my situation is partially the same. We have a grown daughter (actually not biologically either my husbands nor mine) but he has been with her, her entire life. He retained custody of her and her 2 sisters when BM went all crazy on drugs.. Now that she is grown she just pretends he doesn't exist. Now this enrages me to no end. I feel like if she wants to ignore me or be angry with me fine, I can take it. But that man did what even her own biological mother wouldn't do for her.. Love her unconditionally and raise her. However; I learned that this rage I feel doesn't help me at all, nor my husband. She is an adult and it is her life and her mistakes. although it hurts, you have to let them make their choices be it right or be it wrong.
