Trader Joe's Mini PB cups

WOW!!!!!!

I don't even like Peanut Butter cups that much, but these things are addictive! I got sucked in because they are so little and cute! I think there are about 30 in a serving size. The peanut butter & chocolate just melts in your mouth! I thought about making PB cookies with one on top, but managed to eat the whole tub before the cookies ever got made! Opps!

I know at least one lady here that would like them! But don't leave them in your trunk or they'll melt! lol

I LOVE TJ's!

They have the best veggies, flowers, meat, and candy!!! I'll have to look for those Teresa....I like the choc covered peanuts myself. Lots of great food there.

They are clients of ours too. We service their corporate office here. That's where the test kitchen is for their various products and on a good day.....there's food lol.

I get some things already mentioned like the white balsamic vinegar, chocolate chips, cereal & the tall bottle of pure maple syrup (it is a good deal but we have to use one half shelf in the fridg just to store it). I also get the mulitgrain baking mix that I use for pancakes, occasionally the cornbread mix, dried fruit, coconut oil since I read about it on here, some herbs & spices. I love their moisturizing cream in the white pump bottle with the hot pink label. Tried their toothpaste, but the kids & husband don't like it. Their graham crackers, BBQ sauce & honey wheat pretzels, as they don't have high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. My son likes the red pepper spread with eggplant & garlic.

We,(including DH, who is very picky about coffee beans)love their Bay Area coffee. It comes in a big royal blue canister, like the Quaker Oats original oatmeal package. My latest find (and current addiction..) is their Dried Baby Sweet Pineapple which comes in a 6 oz. foil package. Bought it for my little step-grand who loves pineapple, but keep eating it myself. DH & I both keep a bag of the 50% Less Salt/Dry Roasted & Salted Mixed Nuts in our cars. It's a delicious mix of cashews, almonds, macadamias & pistachios. Having just one handful of them when I'm coming home from a long day has often kept me from unhealthy drive-thru & empty calorie foods. We love their Spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oil (bottle has a tree on the label w. / robin's egg blue leaves). As the label says, it has a Fruity Flavor. Hints of Almond. Slightly Bitter, Sweet & Spicy. I never buy bottled salad dressing and like using this as a base for my homemade ones, as well as in cooking. I confess, I'm a snob when it comes to store-bought cookies. But, based on recommendations found here, I bought a container of their chocolate covered "Oreo-type" cookies (I think they're called Jo-Jo's..) OMG! They are so good. The cookies themselves are chocolatey and flavorful, the creme tastes like real vanilla and isn't like the dry white paste in the "O" cookies, and the dark chocolate that they're covered with is sooo good. I have actually served them to company after a nice meal. Those are a few of our favorites - most discovered here on CF. And don't forget the 1000 Layer Crackers!

I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala on my last trip and have to say it was pretty darned tasty! I will be stocking up on that next trip. The pumpkin ice cream is really, really good but we bought the decadent chocolate ice cream....*swoon*. I enjoy a lot of their seasonal products and wish some of them would be regulars (that's right....put those truffles out all year round!!). My list of likes at TJ is pretty long (and some of it is on that Chowhound link). I only buy their frozen veggies any more (mostly haricort verts, roasted sweet corn, brocolli) and various frozen stuff (mushroom turnovers!!). There are definately some misses as well but I won't go into that here. Tastes are very personal.

The means of making Gorgonzola are in most cases very similar to making Maytag blue cheese, full fat milk, set with a bacteria, drained salted and inoculated with penicillum roqueforti. Some gorgonzola is inoculated with a different mold. The difference comes in the aging....and know that as all blue cheeses are not the same, certainly neither are all gorgonzolas. I have been to a taste testing of gorgonzola's a mile long...huge differences in sharpness, texture, color and sweetness. If you found one you like, good. But don't eliminate blue cheeses just because you found one too sharp or soapy or bland or crumbly.

Teresa..those things are satan spawn..LOL....sin in a little square tub!!!!!!! I buy them to make the boys cookies..and they NEVER end up in a cookie batter!!!!!!

I am totally hooked on TJ's Peanut Butter Malted Milk Balls!! Talk about addictive!! They have a thick layer of chocolate covering the peanut butter malted milk center and they melt in your mouth and leave a tiny crunch of malted milk at the end. Oh my gosh...heavenly. I too ate the entier tub this weekend. I did look at the calories and there is 4 servings (9 balls in a serving) with I think 210 calories each serving. So I guess I ate 2 420 calorie lunches. Yea right. :-(

I still love the PB cups, but the Trader Joe's by us got rid of their little shopping carts for kids. My DD is heartbroken-she LOVED those things. Mgr said (nicely) that one of the customers let her older son play with it, who proceeded to fill it up way too much and knocked it over into somebody causing an accident. Even though it was her son's fault, the mom complained and blamed it on the cart. So since TJ is so PC, they got rid of the carts.

I had the extreme pleasure of touring a Trader Joes this past Wednesday in Pittsburgh. That is about 35 miles down the road and into the city, so I don't get there often. Happens that I had an appointment at one of the hospitals at 10:30 and DH had one at another hospital across town at 2:30. So between appointments we did Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Spent about $100 on all kind of goodies, but I was able to pass up those pb cups. Did give in to the Dark Chocolate Covered Ginger though. I really prefer Whole Foods over Trader Joe's. W F's specialty fresh sausage, (like Spinach and Feta Chicken sausage) is to die for. Lunch at Whole Foods that day was a real treat.
