I bought the ball......

for my computer desk. I've been using it since yesterday it seems to be working fine. The massage therapist recommended it since I'm having all this shoulder & neck pain.

I got the anti-burst 65cm at walmart, it was $19. Then I found some good info today, check it out.

We've been using one at the computer for a few years and love it. I wouldn't want to use anything else, I don't think.

Great job..............another idea to put on my TO-DO list! OMG I'll never get to the end. What type of glue did you use to hold the glass pieces on? Many thanks to all, great tips you have given me, I will be careful with the enamel pot and use apple juice to cook with, jill2761 hey I am so glad you told me how to get those pears from the upper branchs I was thinking of climbing the tree but at 48 years old I might be like a cat and not be able to get back down LOL. I am posting a picture of what these pears look like, I didn't plant the tree it was here when I moved in 17 years ago, every year I just pick them up and throw them away because they are sooooooo very hard and some years not very sweet, but this year they are sweet just not soft even after a week on the shelf. They even stay hard until they rot. I am like you this year trying to stay one step in front of the squirrel that is taste testing, I noticed when he first started he would eat one bite then throw it down, Now he is eating most of the pear so I think they are ready. does this look like your pears? I've never owned a eugenia but I've seen them around. Instinctively, I would trim off the dead and dried branches. Take care to see if there are leaf nodes that are viable. When revived, these would start to sprout and produce stems. It may take a long for a regrowth, so be patient. When new stems develop let it grow out a bit and simply nip off the tips to force it to branch out. Keep nipping over time until you get to shape it to a ball. This may take a long time to do so please keep that in mind. If there's not regrowth at all and the branches are all dead, trim them all out. You can get the lower and top ball to grow wider to minimize the gap in between so it starts to look good once again. Hope that's a start. I have a bay tree which I'd began to shape into 2 lollipops when it was a mere 1 foot plant. At this time, you would not be able to discern the balls because the stem growth is slow, but it's getting there. It's now reached 5 feet and I've just nipped off it's top to force out side branches. It doesn't look impressive but in 2 years it would look great.

boy i dont like that game ... choosing trees ... but i do know what toro will suggest.. lol .. he is some kind of dawn redwood freak .. lol ... i would start a new post.. since the subject is different.. and throw in a pic or two ... and see what the gurus suggest ... include soil type.. lot size .. etc ... but i do favor oaks ... mine hear near ann arbor.. after a year or two of getting established.. from 6 foot bare roots.. after 15 years.. are going on 30 feet plus ... doing 3 to 5 feet per year ... which is about as fast as you want.. on a heritage tree ... anything that grows faster than that... is probably not a great tree ... i would google up indiana state univ forestry program ... the forest school is usually at the old Ag college.. which is usually the one with state in its name.. and see if they have a list of things that are good for you ... and then discuss said list here ... i will see if i get lucky to make it easy for you: oh crikey ... Oh, Wow! That looks really interesting. I just took a quick look & want to go back & read the comments following the main article. I wonder what Glenda's issue was that it didn't work?

I know it's supposed to be good for you, but it made my neck/shoulder pain worse. But it's good for your abs!

It's interesting but I don't think I'd like it at all. I think I'd be exhausted at the end of a work day.

I've been using one at work for a year or so now. It is actually very comfortable to sit on. It makes you use your abdominal muscles to balance. And I find myself bouncing when ever I break from what I'm working on. It does take some getting used to, especially not being able to push away from my desk.

When I was working, we got ergonomic furniture. I can't post a pic, but I sat somewhat forward in the seat and wrapped my feet around the footrest. Very comfortable.
