Update from me

Hey Everyone.
It's been a crazy stressful week or so but things have finally come together. I start my new job on the 29th as admin assist at a casino.

I spent an entire week stressing about finding an apartment but my DH came through and found one for me. It's perfect too....one bedroom - huge living room- huge walk in closets (2 of them); a bath tub (yeah) and a good size kitchen. Laundry is in the basement and the rent is affordable. Apartment is 11 minutes from work.

My last day of work is Friday and I have half my stuff packed already. I'm canceling my internet on Friday so it may be a good week or so before I can give another update.

Things have finally turned around for me. Please keep the KT good luck wishes going for my DH. He is also looking for work.

Plantaholics, I'm sorry this didn't turn out the way you had planned. Maybe drippy will be back to do this swap the same way as in the past next time. If you change your mind, we will be happy to have you join in. I have a questionnaire and instruction sheet ready for the participants. I am going to start to e-mail them this evening but not all will get mailed out today. I will continue with them through the weekend, but if you don't have them by Monday (or can't read what is sent - I am sending them as a Word document), get in touch with me. Okay? "going through the motions of starting up." That's what I think too, and that's why I asked if she can see the desk top for the brief moment that the monitor stays on after reboot. Windows ME, I think it's an old CRT Monitor power problem. Someone came to the other forum yesterday that I work on an said they could not connect to the Internet and had pops up right before. I posted the instructions for "downloading" Malwarebytes :)LOL!

Wonderful news!! Hope your new job is all you want it to be. The apartment sounds heavenly!! Take it one day at a time. I am sure you will be a valuable worker for them!! Enjoy!!

I think that would be a cool job Karen! That's fantastic that both the job and apartment fell into place. When you get settled, you'll have to get a new fur-baby to really make it home. :)

Good LUCK! (Seems appropriate, given the job!) What does an admin. asst. DO at a casino? Do you work days? I've never been in a casino. Maybe you'll describe it for us once you get familiar with the job? Lucky find on the apartment so close to work!

No Susan. I have been working in colleges for 20 years. This is a whole new experience for me.

I have a few of my nieces and relatives that work in the casinos in Louisiana, they have made great strides in moving up the ladder and it has been a very good decision for them. One of my nieces started in the laundry and is now the Administrator in charge of all of the hotels and casino house keeping which is a big job since there are several hotels at the location. She is very happy there and her husband works in the actual casino and likes it. The main complaints are the smoke, which is my complaint too. Since they allow smoking it can get very congested. The newer ones have better ventilation and filtering. I have had to leave and go outside because of the smoke setting off my asthma.

I am so happy it all turned out well for you and you did not have to go through that period of no job!

it's very stimulating, but also very rigid..(we have couple of friends in las vegas at one of the biggies) it doesn't matter what dept you're in, either...so much is different in a 24 hour business, too...just be very open minded....

Sounds like quite a year Samkaren! But it also sounds like you and your dh are still quite good friends. Any hope of reconciliation?

No...sadly there will be no reconciliation. The trust is gone for both of us. No matter what either of us say there will always be that doubt hanging over both heads. The "did he/she do it or not". While DH and I love each other we are just not "in love". The feelings I had 26 years ago just are not there. But....our friendship is so solid now...that can't be broken. Both of us are dating others and I only wish him to find his happiness as well. I have found mine and I must say I am enjoying the giddy feelings again.

DH and I are lucky. We will always be there for each other...through thick and thin.
That's what I love about him.
