I don't know if I believe dream analysis. I'm not sure.
I've never had it done. I can remember a lot of my
dreams, but not all. I still have the "I didn't finish
by homework" dream, and the "just wearing underwear to school" dream! lol

I'm not big on analyzing dreams because many dreams are scraps and fragments from near term events that gets scrambled as the brain plays with the pieces. In a dream, a person can soar to new heights and do things out of the ordianry, experiment with items, or get the daylights scared out of him in a nightmare. For example, when we were young, my sister and I discussed the dreams we were having. We asked about colors. Did we see colors in our dreams? We did not know, but it seems colors were missing or non-descript because color was not of particular interest to the subject. The next night, we decided that we'd try to dream in color, and we did for about 75% of the time. After that, due to this suto-suggestion, we dreamed in color and our dreams became more facinating.

However, on very rare occassions, I have experienced a dream out of the ordinary. Once one came to me when I was struggling with a personal problem and the answer came to me in a dream. I awoke in a sweat, my heart pounding, adrenlin flowing; I had just prevented a disaster, but at the same time, it answed a question and casued a great peace to descend over me. That sort of dream needs no interpretation. Its meaning is abundantly clear.

I don't think I ever dream in 'black and white'. Most of the time I can figure out what my dreams mean -- to me. Sometimes the meanings don't dawn on me immediately, but do within an hour or two. I'm often *aware* that I am dreaming, during the dream, and can decide where I want to go in the dream.

Things like 'dream books' seem a bit like tea leaves and the Magic 8 ball -- Yes, No, Maybe So, or maybe not. LOL

Most of the time, these days, I can only remember a tiny part of a dream and if I try to recall it, its just not there, so no, I don't do any analyzing. I feel like chisue, its a toss as to if any of its true or not, and one persons interpretation of something will not be the same as someone else's.

Last week I had dreams of several family members that have passed. I had 4 separate dreams in one night and in each, these family members came to visit me at various places I have lived. They have all been gone for many years and I was very close to them. The dreams were so wonderful and brought me so much comfort. One visit was from my MIL, who wanted to thank me for taking such wonderful care of my FIL who has dementia.

I had a dream a few nights ago in which I found a book on the floor and the name of the book (or maybe the author) was David Howard. I woke up just then and wrote it down on a pad of paper by by bed, otherwise I would have forgot. I did a google search, but nothing seemed to have any meaning for me.

Anybody know a David Howard? lol

I just watched a dream analyzer on TV last night - had never seen the program before - must be new. Anyway, love the website you suggested. Very interesting.

Usually, I don't remember my dreams..but I've had 2 that I remembered every detail. One concerned my daughter. It was as real as me sitting here typing on this keyboard. I also knew that the dream was going to come true, and it did.

Another dream was about a girl I barely know...and at the time I dreamed it, I hadn't even heard her names in weeks. I didn't even remember the dream when I woke up..but it all surface when I was talking to a friend of mine the next morning and SHE mentioned something about the girl!! That dream turned out to be the truth about something invoving the girl and was pretty mind blowing!

As some of you read what I posted before. In July I had a very brief dream. In the dream were Cheryl, Amber and I. Amber was saying in the dream she had the Giggles and Cheryl could not figure out what she meant and I knew it meant she was pregnant. Then the next morning Amber handed me her pregnancy test she had just taken and it was positive. She is now 13 weeks into her pregnancy. I don't know what your dream means, but I know on more than one occasion my dreams come true.

Lydia, I know a G. David Howard. He's been a comedian in the Clearwater area of Florida for years. He's really a legend. He used to go 4 straight hours without a break and interacted with the audience a lot.

On one of our first dates, Harry and I went to see him and he decided to "pick on" us. First thing he asked, was if we were married. "NO". Looked at Harry and asked, "Are you hoping to get lucky tonight?" Poor Harry wasn't quite prepared for that and set his wine glass down on the table where the stem snapped right off and wine went everywhere. G. David said, "Well, I guess I got my answer."

So now go analyze your dream, Lydia--if you dare!!! LOL

Nope, not me! The "dark side" of the Virgo is fussy and a worrier, overcritical and harsh, perfectionist and conservative.

"Lack of mobility"--perhaps! In terms of career mobility, that's something that's weighed on my mind for the past couple of years -- what other jobs could I ever do?

Self-identity, self-confidence issues: Yup--as I get a bit older, those have been faltering. Especially when I look around in my office and see the faces getting younger and younger, and not having the folks around anymore who used to be my "cheering" section.

Soooo-- very interesting! Maybe it's that we can all find a way to relate to the dream in one way or another, but I can sure relate to these, so thanks, Lydia, for offering this info!

I love analyzing dreams. I have been doing it for years. I always ask my patients about their dreams because they are easy indicators into how they see the world. Having said that, I'm not sure what it means to be barefood. Feet usually have to do with moving forward and I would say if you are barefoot perhaps you feel that you aren't prepared to move forward in some way.

There are many kinds of dreams and many ways to interpret them, but they are all fascinating to me. I LOVE dreams. They are usually so beautiful.

I so envy your lucid dreams. I have precognitive dreams. Years ago I had a dream about my Dad, he was pulling a mattress out of this house. I went into the house and it was completely empty except for one prescription bottle in the medicine cabinet, with a woman's name on it. My step mom woke me up and I told her about the dream. She waited until we were sitting at the breakfast bar and said she wanted to tell me what my dream meant. You guessed it, he was having an affair with the woman who's name was on that bottle!

Another time my brother had come home from Vietnam with such a bad case P.T.S.D he couldn't drive the red Mustang waiting for him. He disappeared to Calif and nobody had heard from him in way over a year. I had a dream he was coming home and he pulled up in front of my house the very next morning! Good thing I'd told my family or they'd always wonder if I really had, even though I have a history for this.
When you have these kinds of dreams their always in full color and stamped on your mind forever. Or at least mine are.

I used to dream of a little toddler girl with curly black hair who giggled. Now, I dream of a solemn wiley red headed baby boy. My children are almost grown and I had a horrible pregnancy so I would be horrified if I found out I was pregnant. But, I do feel a connection to these little babies in my dreams.

I also dream of thick grass and daffodils and a house with a man that does not have a face but feels familiar walking around the house with me. He is concerned with me being happy about the house.

And I dream of a river. I have dreamed about this river so many times that I know the deep spots and where you can take a boat and where it is dangerous to cross and everything.
