Yes, cook noodles in water, and then have chicken broth that cabbage and maybe a bit of carrot in it cooked, then to the drained noodles add the broth with the cabbage and carrot. I have had that since a child. My Mother always made that for us. I like it even when I am not sick. Be sure to salt and pepper too.

Soda crackers and milk...... I remember that was what my Dad would give me at the kitchen table in the wee hours of the night.

& depending on what part of me it is that's sick:
tomato rice soup with tomato bits
chicken noodle or chicken & dumplings
dry wheat toast
bananas
ice cream!

Have a Tuscan One Pot soup that I love with fresh spinach that I add at the end of preparation.

I always crave orange juice over crushed ice, and that dry Lipton chicken soup in the box. Not sure why about the soup-it's not a childhood memory.

I know that you will all think I'm crazy, but when I am sick I like Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup, made with milk. Milk to fill the can about halfway, stirred slowly into the soup so it stays creamy and smooth.

I always want simple egg salad, chopped boiled eggs with mayo and a little mustard, on super soft white bread cut diagonal. Every time I have had surgery or been under anesthesia I crave that. Mom made us boiled eggs or soft boiled eggs but not egg salad very often.
I also like gumbo which I guess for me is my "soup". That is from my childhood.

Butterscotch pudding, for one thing.
If I'm in the worst part of a cold, chili -- even from a can -- is a good thing (with Club Crackers).

Campbell's chicken noodle soup (canned) used to be on the list when I was growing up, but now the sodium content is just too high for my adult tastebuds (and too high for every other reason!)

Hot tea with lemon and a shot. Sometimes a dozen of those with the caffine prevents sleep, but by then, who cares?

Consomme soup, Mum always gave us that and ginger ale. Saltines with peanut butter and jelly.

Now? I'd probably skip the crackers and just have the soup and diet ginger ale.

Depends on what's wrong, but when I'm sick my list of foods and drinks I want is:
- ginger ale
- hot tea w/ honey and fresh-squeezed lemon
- soft boiled egg! toast is optional.
- chicken soup

Ginger ale, saltines, jello

Ugh! When I was little my mother always gave me ginger ale to drink, and I hated then, and I hate it now.

Conditioned response: When I have to drink ginger ale now I get sick!

I usually like to drink hot chicken broth or de-caffeinated hot herbal tea of some sort...chamomile, peppermint, ginger.

Shredded Wheat lowered into boiling water for a second, drain, two pats of butter on top, over easy egg on top, salt. From childhood.

Ginger ale, tea with sugar, chicken broth, then on to plain, lightly salted oatmeal, then soft-boiled egg on toast, then...my tummy is well enough to eat a general diet.

I don't want any dairy or acids on a sick tummy.

I'll also take a probiotic capsule.

Hot milk toast - soothing to the body and soul,

My mother used to give me a glass of fresh orange juice with castor oil when I was sick.

Never like orange juice since then :o(

Diet ginger ale or coke. Cream of wheat. Oatmeal. Hard boiled egg and toast.

And Lindsey, not crazy at all. I love Cream of Chicken soup, but we mixed it with some water or milk, heated it up and put it over toast. That is warm me to my soul comfort food!
