egg wash: before or after you bake the bottom crust

Gonna make a tomato pie for luncheon on Monday. Have to bake it Sunday afternoon, as there is no time on Monday.

Some say to apply the egg wash on the bottom before you bake

Another says after you take it out of the oven.

Got everything down pat for putting the pie together, but I'm debating on the before or after.

What do ya'll think?

I know to prick the crust before baking.
