Want to make a comment here about an extra feature of the hosta slide show. If you've heard the wire wastebaskets from Dollar Tree mentioned as a barrier against voles, then take a look at pictures 30 -34 to see how to do it. They do not cut out the bottoms, but crimp it to a lesser depth. I think I'd wear some gloves while doing the job though.

When my mother died, I had a slide show made of pictures that started with one of her and her mother when mother was only a few months old. Others, as she grew up, married, had us kids, and several events with friends, were all put in chronological order. The show was set up in the entry of the church...and there was no music. Didn't need it. Her cousins, friends, and their children all enjoyed seeing pictures of themselves much younger and having fun. Music would have drowned out their remarks that celebrated mom's life.

Lori, I was literally close enough to touch her soft, fuzzy nose and was *very* tempted. Janie, those are elk. The one who is facing the camera would not leave me alone. I kept trying to get a clear shot of the males rutting in the background and she would come right up to my face and stand there. Running to another location just made her follow me. I had to snap photos before she caught up with me. I have dozens of photos of her face in my camera. LOL I should have linked to the better upload at YouTube earlier.
