Hey Kimmieann: The PhotoBucket made it for me. Try Try again. I'm going to upload a bunch of photos. Then when I wanna chose the photos, I go to "slide show feature". Scroll down and you'll find all your photo's. Check which ones you want. "Save". I used the top url (or so I think I did) to "copy" (or control C). Make your follow up post. I finally had time to sit down and properly enjoy your slide show. Your pictures MAKE me want to take a stroll through it and discover all the little nooks and crannies and things you have tucked away. That is what I envision a garden ... little things tucked here and there, things around the corner that make you want to continue ... lush plants, tiny plants, architectural interest, little plant groupings and pottings ... man! ... you guys are going to turn this quilter into a gardener! I vote we all meet up at hostahillbilly's house next month for coffee and a stroll. But alas, do I read the "header" information correctly? You're in zone 3 or 4? Isn't that like 2 latitudinal lines below the arctic circle? Just kidding. Seriously though, how long is your growing season? Did I see a rubrum lily in your slide show? The picture of the sunflowers reminded me that I have an "art" sunflower quilt on my "to do before I die" list. I NEED to make a HOSTA quilt! Have to think now ... how to best give the feel of the various kinds of hostas and their flowers. Man I just don't have enough years left! Drat! It's 8:19, how did that happen? Robin in NC

Yes, you certainly are right... the rush is on! This is my first experience with hosta and I hope I am not planting too late. It is still pretty warm here - starts out in the 50's in the morning and warms up to the 80's by mid day. I am officialy zone 6 but we are usually more like zone 7. Occasionally we get socked with a zone 6 winter (like last year). We don't start getting cold weather usually until Nov. Now that I've said that we will get zapped ha ha. Your cats sound adorable Betty, especially the "crier" lol. My helper is an indoor cat but loves to spend a little time with me outside. (my other cat is afraid of being outside believe it or not) And speaking of holes... here she is a few mintues after I took the picture of her inspecting the soil - that excavated 4 x 4 hole definitely needed some rolling to get the dimensions right!
