Curious, how do you get the movie? CC or just push a button. I would be leary on using a CC,.

I thought it was 99 cents, or maybe $1.99.

$1 per movie around here from their vending machine in grocery stores.

How does the whole process work? Do I pay for it at the machine? Or do I create an account online to reserve titles and it automatically gets paid from a credit card? Please explain it in a way a fluff-for-brains bear can understand.

I have never rented a movie, but I believe it is a dollar in the kiosks i've seen in Maryland. (I have returned one a time or two for my daughter.) I know a guy who works for them and he says they are a great company to work for. I beieve it is the same company that counts your change in many grocery stores..Coinstar, is it?

From what I remember the 1st time I used RB, you provide minimal info using the keyboard on the machine then use a credit card. You only need to do that the 1st time, and at 1 machine. After that I think it's just a zip code and CC. I have had my acct and used RB since they came into my area, never a problem. I think it costs $1.20 + tax here in NEPA.

My parents use Redbox and you do have to check out with a credit card.

It's up to $1.29 here in Florida and you do have to use a credit card. You can skip giving email but you do have to put in zip code.
You have 24 hours before its due back but you can return it to any Redbox location. Easy to do - not all places have the same movies by the way.

We have two RedBox locations here that I know of. Very convenient.
I saw some new releases I would like to watch. I'll give it a try sometime.

cant help you on the price but son uses it all the time one nice thing is you can return the movies to any place not necerilly where you rented it from.

Ok, I signed up for an account online. It's $1.20+tax per movie per night.
We have 4 locations in our little town. One location has two kiosks.
Three of these are within about 5 minutes from my house.
The fourth one is about 10 minutes at most from my house.

You will want to give them an e-mail. Set up a free one in Yahoo, Google or whatever, because they will send you an e-mail receipt when you return a DVD (it's usually in my in-basket before I get home). They will also send you different offers, like a free movie night around the time of your birthday.

I've not found the credit card usage to be a concern.

And since there are just 4 locations in your town, Pooh Bear, you might want to keep a printout of the addresses in your glove compartment. Sometimes, when I've gone to return a DVD, the machine is full (usually on Mondays, in my neck of the woods). So you'll have the back-up info right at hand (and with a smartphone you can usually check if the next machine is available for returns -- and what it has in stock!).

I use Redbox in conjunction with Netflix. Had Hulu Plus just for its 1-month trial; just wanted to catch up on episodes of a certain show, then dropped it. There was just not a whole lot there I was interested in. I also used Amazon's instant streaming for another TV show I was catching up on -- great variety there.

My only issue with Redbox? They can stock some weird movies (the machines in my area tend to have a lot of horror flicks! All-year-round, not just with Halloween coming). The movies in the kiosks are not necessarily going to be the hot ones that just ended their movie runs. But they stock some interesting ones! And some games, if you or your family's into that.

If you happen to see the movie "The Visitor" in a Redbox kiosk, try it! I seems to turn up frequently.

Got a free rental just for signing up.
I have Hulu+ and NetFlix streaming. I had a NetFlix DVD plan but we
got to where it was too hard to pick a movie and find time to watch it.
Didn't want to pay for a plan that we weren't making the most of.
I feel like with RedBox, it's a better deal to get a per title rate.

you can also get RedBox streaming, and it will give you credits on a dvd rental when you stream a movie from them. I'm not sure, but I think it works pretty much like Netflix. You don't get the newer titles streaming, but then, you also don't have to remember to run out and return them.

We use Redbox all the time. There isn't a huge selection of movies, but I usually can find one. Every grocery store I go to has one and it's great you can return them anywhere. We've taken them from six different places, but the one beside our gym we use the most. It used to be $1 , now $1.20. He gives his email so we get a return receipt.

Here is a free universal movie code MCPC413S that can be used over and over again at the Red Box machine. You cannot use this code to reserve a movie online. It can only be used one time per credit card. The code should be good for about a week. Expiration date is unknown. Then there will be another free code. You can find them all over the Internet if you look. When you are at the machine, press the Promo button to enter the code.

If you are new, you can only rent 3 movies at a time. Once the machine knows you are a customer, next time you can rent up to 5 movies.

You can check to see what movies are available at their individual Redboxes online. My system is to check online at RedBox to see if they have the movie I want at my local RedBox. If they don't, then I can check to see where the closest box is. I have yet to pay for a movie, since I became one of their best customers. They are the best deal in town!

The only trouble I ever had at Redbox was to figure out how to return a movie at the box. You have to first press Return on the touch screen and then push the movie in the slot at the side of the machine. It takes the machine about a minute to do the return processing. Then it is ready for movie 2 to be returned.

I use it about once a week. Sometimes I get a half off coupon (by email) and it's annoying to charge 50 cents to my debit card but that's the way it is.

I wish it was like Itunes, buy a $20.00 card and have an account.
