All I do is whine and complain. So today I'd like everyone to know that my day at work was great! Don't you just love a good breeze when you have to work outside? And, although I was worried that my dog Quincy seemed to be off today and might possibly have a seizure while I was at work.... well, he didn't. (DH was home)

This week looks to be great for those of us around here that have to work outside. Low 80's for high temps and even a couple of 70's thrown in there. It really does look like fall is in the air in my part of the country! Plus, there's rain in the forecast! So sorry that some of you have had more than your fair share of it, but we need it here. Our county fair begins this week but the rain should be out of here by then. Great fair weather. We are looking forward to all the high caloric foods.

And now that the niceties are over, I'll go do the freakin' dishes and scrub that nasty-@$$ trashcan. Sheesh! My knee is killing me, my hips are aching and I think I'm on the verge of a headache.

There! I feel much better now! :)

welcome to the fourm! sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, I to lost mine 24 years ago and it still hurts, heres a memory craft I made for my family of my mother, she so loved flowers, the poem went around the craft boards a few years ago ,I still cry when I read it, my computer crashed and I lost the page I had saved of this,you could find a nice scrapbook page, and write the poem and add your photo, made one for my DBIL for his mom and changed the words from roses to flowers, and used a different page, I am sure the page I used was a freebe from some where, if you think you would like this I will hunt for the page, this was a 8x10 size and I put it in a nice frame oddie

Now Now!! You have to learn to think outside the box (oops!) Think of that table...with the rust all sanded off and painted a tasteful wine red with the handles gilded....and think of it reupholstered in a lovely soft muted gold velvet. Think of the tilt back...er up...oiled and in working condition. Imagine that in your media room. There are drawers to store coasters and napkins...perhaps even books and video tapes....and there is that lovely pull out tray to use for hors d'ouvres. To quote Jay..."Sold? or not sold?" I have the same pot you just won. There are only 2 of us and I love it. I make oatmeal for several days, hard and soft boil eggs that peel easily and make meals in a fraction of the time. I have made Chicken Paprikash, pot roasts, chicken legs, and just this morning a large batch of strawberry compote that I then canned for the shelf. (Out of freezer room) Soups that take hours are done in 20 minutes, like a navy bean (no soaking the beans), minestrone and beef vegetable. Pasta is done in 4 minutes and no steaming up the kitchen either. And it makes the best cheesecake and yogurt too! Facebook has an Instant Pot for beginners site that is wonderful. They answer any question and will provide links to recipes. Also, your model is not being recalled, only the slow cooker version is to be returned to Walmart.

Oh Moonie, I have thought the same thing about myself. I only post to complain. But I NEVER thought that about YOU!! LOL!

Actually my day is going pretty well. We had company for a week, and now that they are gone, things are getting back to normal.

Glad your day went so well! Send some of that warm weather here to Michigan, I put the heat on last night! But not too much heat.

socks - I never thought that about you, either, but I have become more aware lately about how much I have been complaining. From this day forward, I will be working on that. Nobody likes a complainer!

kathy - I'm not ready for heat to have to come on. We have golden retrievers, which means hair in vents. Must vacuum soon! LOL

Please take note that I was not complaining about dog hair or having to vacuum the vents. *ponders* At least I don't think I was. :)

I'm glad your day was good! Take two asprin, put your feet up, and leave the trash can...unless it smells.

I had a great day, too. I got my hair cut and colored, and then I had to go to the commissary.

Now I have bags and bags and bags and bags of food (Thank you, Lord!) to put away. I'll be a couple of hours rotating things, wiping shelves, and putting away, but DH made me a pot of tea and is graciously staying out of my way!

I STILL haven't got the blankety-blank traverse rods hung, but I've finally figured out the directions. I think I'll get the anchor holes drilled right the first time.

If not, the KT will be hearing my moaning and groaning.

caroline - I already took two ibuprofen, my feet are up on the printer and the trash can has already been washed out. LOL

You said you went to the commissary. Is that like the navy commissary? If so, how do prices compare nowadays? Just wondering.

Good luck on those silly rods. Measure twice, drill once. :)

80+ degrees here today.. I got sunburned.
went to the ocean, walked around, climbed the
tallest lighthouse in washington, came home
and mowed the lawn!

Of course with all the rain she and I have been sharing, it could be Navy, if we had the boat/ships we might need to get around. LOL

That was fast, Moonie. It's an Air Force commissary; the prices, on most things, are well worth the trip.

I still like to go to the "big" store, Hugo's for things the comm doesn't stock. Surprisingly, Target has the biggest and freshest, and most of the time, the least expensive, fresh vegetables around.

Yes, the rain is a concern...and we just sold the boat. I have floation jackets for the pups, maybe I should get something for myself!
