Oh yes. But there are several other PBS and/or Acorn series that are equally enjoyable. Foley's War. Doc Marten. The London.

Hmmm, gay. So perhaps he was looking to Edith as his cover up while he carried on with Thomas. The plot thickens. I have never seen Easy Virtue but now I will have to loo for it. I can see Talbot slowly losing his mind living at Downton under Mary's (and George's -- since we know he has no future on the stage) thumb. And how about Spratt! I knew we were in for a surprise with the advice columnist -- but Spratt? Never saw that coming. I think Branson will end up with the pretty editor.

I bought Ediths Darling & Violets Pride about 6 weeks ago, So far VP is a blooming machine with great fragrance. ED not as quick to repeat, only slightly fragrant. Both are in big pots and no diseases so far. Other roses in our yard are suffering black spot and mildew because of the drizzle. Bought Pretty Lady 2 days ago so not much to report except healthy looks.

suero, I don't know how anyone who didn't already know the story could have followed the plot of the movie of Tinker, Tailor. And while I enjoyed it, I agree that it's not a patch on the TV series. Alec Guinness is the only true George Smiley! As for Downton, I thought it should have stopped after the first two seasons. It started off wonderfully and then descended into complete soap opera. I don't have high hopes for the film.

I don't know what seasons everyone has watched. I just got on to it a few months ago and watched Season 1 on Netflix, it was the only season available. Last week I signed up for a 1 month free trial of Amazon Prime. It has season 2 available for free. I know that it's been on PBS, but I never saw it there. So, if there's anyone who hasn't seen season 2, sign up for Amazon Prime for a month.

My PBS station sent me an email today - it starts Jan 6th and there's a brief preview link on the web site.

Here is a link that might be useful: brief preview

I meant to comment on Pam_25f's post. I loved Foyle's war. I think it's my all time favorite. I watched it on Netflix. I have an affinity to the WWII era and Foyle's War was just my cuppa.

I too loved Foyle's War. I like the main character especially, and the actor plays it so naturally. Also love his blond sidekick.
