i just saw titanic last weekend. amazed at the technical aspects of filming but just okay, imho, otherwise.

I've never seen the Tom Cruise classic. Gosh, I just forgot the name of it.

Wall Street, and now there's a sequel in the making, soon to be released. I want to see the original yet.

I finally watched The Maltese Falcon and Citzen Kane. I guess I must have had unrealistic expectations because I was decidedly underwhelmed. :o)

I can't think of any that I haven't seen but there are so many movies that I either missed the beginning or end. We looove TV and movies. Our tv is on from the time the first person gets up and until the last person goes to bed. It's just too hard to sit down and not miss a portion.

Gone with the Wind is probably my all-time favorite book and movie. I think I'll get it out and read tonight. Thanks for the idea, Susan! :)

I've never seen any Rocky's or any Godfathers.

I've never seen the Matrix because I absolutely refuse to watch any movie with Keanu Reeves in it.

There are actually a lot I haven't seen that most people have.

Gone With The Wind. That era just doesn't interest me, but perhaps one day I'll watch it.

I saw the first Godfather, but never watched the others. However, I have the whole set on DVD and maybe someday I'll watch them.

I saw Last Tango in Paris for the first time a few years ago. I thought it was horrid.

Moonie, about those bits and pieces........I don't think I've ever seen The Sound of Music in its entirety. Ditto the Jimmy Stewart Christmas movie. (Title, anyone?)

I watched Cool Hand Luke recently. Don't know why I had never seen it. I liked it.

It's a Wonderful Life.

I have watched it from beginning to end and think it's a fantastic movie. Until a few years ago, I had only seen bits and pieces.

After more posts, I realize there are lots of movies I haven't seen. Godfather 2, for instance. I couldn't stand the first one... horsehead, and all. :(

Citizen Kane was on a few weeks ago. This time I thought I would watch but it did not hold my interest.

caught "once is not enough" today..kirk douglas...read the book but hadn't seen the movie...i'm always watching tcm station...dh thinks it's dumb to watch b/w and anything before 1950s, he just can't understand...but the language, not being able to hide in color, and the spoken word with no f bombs, is refreshing...

i've seen quite a few movies over the years, but no friday the 13 or any of the horror genre...

I just gotta say.... one thing that bothers me with some movies, especially older ones, is the age of the actor portraying a much younger person. Jimmy Stewart must have been 40 years old when he made Wonderful Life and that always irked me. LOL

I own LA Confidental....never watched it. Never saw Schindlers List, An Officer & A Gentleman, Titanic, Godfather,Cool Hand Luke,....the list goes on.....

Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump, odd because I love Tom Hanks.

I bought a VHS tape of Titanic, never watched it and then got rid of the VCR! Most times I just don't want to dedicate that much time to one thing. I have a short attention span and I prefer reading to watching movies. I used to love going to the movies - saw over 200 movies in one year - but now they don't interest me as much.

Same as Murraysmom. I used to be a real movie buff, but fell out of the habit when my daughter was born, 30 years ago.
I can't stay awake to watch a movie on dvd at home, and the last movie I saw at the theater was when my daughter was in college...we went to see Buffalo 66...in 1999. So, I've missed a bunch of them.

Never saw Citizen Kane or Godfather II. I've watched very few of the older (50's and earlier) movies although I watch It's a Wonderful Life most every Christmas eve.

According to the Rotten Tomatoes site the #1 movie of all time is The Beatles A Hard Day's Night (1964). I haven't seen that one, but I imagine I would enjoy it.

The Sound of Music

I "saw" 2001: A Space Odyssey twice in 1968. Once was on a class field trip. But I need to watch it again I guess. No one I know that saw it back then wasn't under the influence in one way or another. So I'll have to rent it to watch again.

The one classic I have never been able to sit through is The Graduate. I know I'm probably in the minority but that has to be the most boring film of all time in my opinion.

Here is my hit list. These came for a recent set of films I reviewed for a private group.

Sahara - A Clive Cussler Adventure tale.

A Night as the Museum - Fantasy. Museum artifacts come alive after the museum closes for the night and shocks the newly hired watchman.

Adventure, Exploration, highy fictional

WALL-E A cutsey robot roams a ruined earth and is trying to tidy up the place. He makes it his full time job, but then it gets very dangerous for him to be out of his abode.

Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Based on a book by the same name and used as a platform
to make a digitized movie where the director can go beyond conventional special effects.

The Secret Life of the Bees
Interpersonal interplay of a young girl who finds a houseful of caring Black women after she runs away from a very terrible home situation.

UP - a rollicking cartoon film about a codgedy old man who has lost his wife and nearly lost the will to live when he suddently decides to kick civilization in the rear and make the dream trip that he and his wife had discussed and said someday we'll go. It's one of the better movies of this group. Ed Azner does his voice - a perfect match.

Science fiction totally digitized. A block buster effort. It does have scenes where violence is directed toward the planet and its hidden inhabitants, but these scenes are necessary to tell the story.

Toy Story 3
Like Toy Story 1 and 2, except Andy has aged is going off to college. The toys are headed for the storage bin and are in danger of being tossed out.

Robots
Fictional robot characters and their lives. They have atonishingly human traits and some are not so good. The director uses the characters as a canvas to play out the interaction of these traits.

I really thought I had seen both "It Happened One Night" (Colbert/Gable) & "It's A Wonderful Life"---but hadn't. Probably saw so many film clips over the years that my brain just filled in for both movies. Finally saw both in their entirety in the last year & enjoyed them.

Within the last week, I saw a film clip from "Treasure of Sierra Madre", considered a film classic, and realized I'd never seen that one. Not sure I want to.

We subscribed to Turner Classic Movies for a couple years a few years back, but think I've now seen most of their collection---at least the ones I would be interested in.

Speaking of Gone With The Wind, I just saw the obituary for the lady, who as a 6-year old girl, played Rhett & Scarlett's daughter, Bonnie, in that movie. I'm not sure, but I think that only leaves Olivia De Havilland still surviving from that movie. Or maybe Ann Rutherford is still around?

(Anything that has been in the theater in the past two years. )

I was raised in Jonesboro, GA but have never seen the movie (or read the book) Gone with the wind. Funny how people in WV don't give me the same disgusted look as people "from GA" when they learn this, lol.

Never seen any of the horror movies. Well, I listened to Pet Cemetery- had my eyes shut through the whole thing.

Never saw Ol'Yeller- it made my mom cry so we were never allowed to see it as kids and never got around to it as an adult.

I've never seen "Jaws" or "Alien" or many other scary movies. Don't like them. I *have* seen most everything else you all are talking about, though. And to those who were underwhelmed with "Citizen Kane," join the club. All the fuss was about the use of camera, not the story.:)

DH and I are only one season away from finishing "The Sopranos" on DVD. OK, it's not a movie, but I think we're the only people who never watched it 'live'. (Any redeeming features I thought I saw in the main characters in the early episodes has completely vanished!)

I never missed avoiding "The Exorcist" and all of the thrill/slasher movies. No 'Everything Explodes' movies for me either. I don't like "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Casablanca" or the 'Life is Just a Box of Chocolates' thing. Some classics just seem too dated now, like "To Kill a Mockingbird". The messages seem belabored. I think I'd feel that way about "Treasure of Sierra Madre" if I watched it again. Things I *loved* as a kid would probably make me roll my eyes now. ("Spartacus" comes to mind. LOL) Yet, I still love the Cole Porter stuff and the 'Fred & Ginger' fluff.

I have never seen "Star Wars" (am I the only one?)
