LOL..........nope........I was an agriculture major, am a weather nerd, and lived in the south. I still can't understand him.

The weather was fine, once dressed for it, just normal midwest seasonal weather .... "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes, it will change ..." Joanne

I am about 30 miles southeast of Baton Rouge, bleak here today also. I have tons of daylilies breaking the soil and new growth on all of the evergreen daylilies. My Carolina Jasmine is loaded with buds and the Snowdrops are up, but no buds yet. The Wisteria and Bridal Wreath are starting to bud up, as is the fig tree. I lost one big Loquat tree, but is was a bit down in the dumps before the big freeze. All of the rose bushes have new growth, except for 2, which I think also were victims of the big freeze. I am hoping the Crinums and Amaryllis come back, the bulbs feel firm, but I see not new growth since the freeze. Sharon

Otherwise, I'm not far from your conditions Dotmom. Clouds haven't moved in just yet. Still a couple below zero and the sun is nice and bright. The guy I hire to shovel for me was just here and cleaned things out so that's taken care of. Didn't do it for the last snow or two so I wanted to get it taken care of. Heavier clouds should move in before long. Just noticed something interesting. On my weather page I have a "bug" for Accuweather and it's showing -8ð with a "Real Feel" temp of -6ð! Presumably it's the sun? Otherwise it's kind of strange because the reported wind is 5 mph which gives a -20ð windchill. Sure doesn't take much breeze at those temps, does it? Usually the "Real Feel" corresponds to windchill or humiture. AccuWeather is a little AccuGoofy today methinks. Although I'd like to go to the store and pick up a few things (have had some hankerings lately!), but I think I'm going to stay put. My work is done for the week. I've got a pantry and freezer to feed me. El loco gatto wants on-demand attention. Have laundry to do and it's warm in here. I just have this feeling it's a good idea to stay put and not take unnecessary risks today (again). Plus it saves money too! As I'm typing this the clouds are thickening and the sun is dimming.
