Good for you Sherry. No, have not been to any yet this season but we are looking forward to it. Is yours the big electric roaster? I have a couple of them, one is a Nesco can't remember the other one and I have inserts for them to keep things warm while serving 3 different things. Have used them in the past for big outside family get togethers. Of course have used them for turkeys and whatever you want to bake. I don't really care for them for pies though, too much dampness I guess. I am working today on our meal here after we get home from church tomorrow. I plan on fixing ham, Great Northern soup beans with flat dumplings, cornbread, coleslaw, and probably some apple dumplings since I have the stuff to make them. Will fix some other things too if I feel up to it and have the time. My back is feeling some better so maybe I can get some more done. It is raining a little here today, but so far not a lot. It is 54 out right now. Izzi and I will go out on the big rig in awhile and get the mail and cruise out back and look at our garden. Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Sue in Central Indiana

Oh, I am here. I have been baking a strawberry rhubarb pie. I also baked a black raspberry pie to take to a friend tomorrow. I had leftover berries and I baked them into a cobbler. The kitchen smells good. I have strawberries to clean and the kitchen to clean up and Izzi is going to get a bath. It is cloudy and damp out. The temperature in central Indiana is 64. Yesterday was a day of weekly shopping with Amber. Tomorrow is a trip with Cheryl to visit her Father in law. We also plan on going to the new Joann Fabrics and Hobby Lobby. And now, I am feeling embarassed as well. I posted on the thread bacause I "assumed" (you know what that makes me!) that MarilynSue was being too casual about her medical visit and new meds. And, I just wish someone would have tried to impress upon me that diabetes has a component that is so "insidious". The vision problems that creep up, the neuropathy (nerve damage)in feet, legs and hands the kidneys. I have been there.....not taking those numbers as seriously as I should have, and even now I push the envelope too frequently. I really admire the posters that come here and say that they really stick to their food plan. I AM so lucky. Everything has worked for me and I still have neuropathy....mostly from being in denial for a long time. Too much info, I am sure, Nanny Anyway, I hope that the messages were taken in the spirit that they were offered. I most certainally did identify with her.

We call it ham salad, to. I make it all the time. I use 2 lbs bologna, 9 or so boiled eggs, a 24oz jar of sweet pickles,1 baseball sized onion and miracle whip. Sometimes after it sits you need to add more miracle. I use the old fashion hand grinder. I grind up the eggs first, then all the other things. Yummy, yummy.. One day I was coming out of Meijer and I heard someone call my name. It was a guy my hub worked with years ago and we had camped with a few times when our kids were young. He asked me if I would send him my ham salad recipe. He said he had trisd to make it a couple times and it never tasted right. He told me it was the best he had ever had. he gave me his email address and I sent it to him.. I, too, like the Echrich bologna the best. I just got a new table and chairs and it won't work to fasten the grinder to it. I have to figure out some other place to do it. I am sure hubby wil get something figured out for me. It is one of his favorite things.. Susie
