What's for dinner 9/9/10

We got some rain this afternoon which cooled us off a little. Felt good to sit on the screened porch for a while. Dinner tonight is brown sugar meat loaf, parsley potatoes and green beans. Peach pie for dessert.

I just love reading what you are all eating. So what's for dinner at your house?

chicken and green bean casserole for my dinner for lunch OUT per usual

And a brand new jar of PB for later, yea!

We are having batter dipped fish, parsley potatoes and a salad.

Hey all, One week down, 39 to go! The week was busy so it went fast, but some negative things with some students and one former collegue that I am not at liberty to discuss, but real downers. I'm glad it is the weekend. I guess I am officially 50 now. I got a phone call this morning from the gastroenterologist office to schedule my colonoscopy! It is not until November and I am NOT looking forward to it, but who does? I am doing WW CORE now. This is my first week. The points were just not working for me as I found myself using the bulk of them up eating 2 point snacks. I have spent a good part of the day making food to have for me, but I will share! So far I have made fruit salad, veggie soup, turkey chili and some puddings. Next I am going to make some brown rice to have on hand and some sort of oatmeal cookie thing I can have for breakfast. That is my only complaint about CORE is breakfast. I am used to some sort of bread in the morning, and I just can't do that, so I am trying to find alternatives that are quick and filling. Suzanne, I hope that you find your butt! I have been laughing reading last weeks posts. You guys have been entertaining! Donna, a good leader can make all the difference in WW. I only go to one leader because she really does motivate me. I have tried others and they just don't do it for me. Keep up the good work. OK, I have to hang my head in shame over the Patriots. I am so disappointed in our coach. I know he is a great guy and a great coach and I can't believe he did what he did. I am glad that he admitted his wrong doing and I hope that the team can just move on. I think the punishment was appropriate. Now they have to kick butt (not pork!) in tomorrows game to show the world that they are a great team regardless! Enjoy the weekend. Love, Besh

Greetings all, Where is everyone? Wow, so quiet here. Dee, it looks like you are talking to yourself again!! I too have been MIA I have been running since last week. We had our annual family clambake and the weather was not too bad. The day before was a total washout so we postponed a day and it worked out. I am leaving this afternoon for another campout. This is the place where there is a 35 acre flat field. Some of you may remember that I saw Aurora Borealis there a few years ago. I hope we see it again. I love this campout and I am really looking forward to it. The trailer is all packed and I am ready to roll around 5pm. Dee, I will email you my correct email address. Yes, it has changed. A young fox tried to get my Blue a few days ago. He did not suceed but he managed to get a few tufts of hair from his neck. Poor Blue was so scared and shook up. It's getting so I can't let the cats out at all anymore. I know the fox is just doing what comes naturally but it's summer and there is plenty of food besides my cats and chickens! I would just die if anything happened to Blue. I hope you all have a great weekend and I hope by the time I get home a whole bunch of MIA's check in to say hello.

Everything sounds so good! Firemanswife-Will your girls eat cottage cheese? I wish the twins would but they aren't much interested in it.They do like yogurt though.I make them smoothies with MOT'S For TOTS mixed fruit juice and Vanilla yogurt every day.I also bought some vanilla flavored Carnation instant breakfast to add to their milk and they like that.They don't eat much fruit and I wish they did.They did when they were eating the baby food stuff but not so much fresh or canned fruit.Sometimes I mix some baby food fruit with the smoothie and they like that.For a long time they wouldn't even eat bananas but Rowdy has discovered he loves "nananas"! He will eat at least two at a time.Jilly maybe 3 or 4 bites.Have you seen the baby bananas? I bought some out of curiosity.Taste like bananas only smaller.LOL Rowdy can eat 4 of those at a sitting so probably not too economical for us.LOL I think I'll buy some cottage cheese and see if their taste buds have changed.I love cottage cheese and pineapple. Sorry folks,didn't mean to hijack the thread. I didn't have anything thawed for supper so I threw together a casserole with some leftover taco meat,a can of ranch style beans,tortilla chips and cheese.It was pretty good!

Grandparent's day - that's what DH's daughter said, and she(and DGD) took us out to dinner at a local steakhouse. We had filet mignon w/roasted yam and key lime pie. DGD had chicken fingers. That little 10 month old girl spent the entire dinner flirting with a teen age boy at the next table !

Home made sausage pizza. With chunks of tomato & onion in the sauce. Mushrooms on my piece. :0)

Grilled burgers on homemade buns...broccoli(from the garden) with cheese sauce and probably Kettle Chips...

Cool here as well. Scalloped potatoes, stuffed pork chops and corn. Chocolate zucchini cake w/vanilla ice cream for dessert.

We had roast beef,baby carrots,green beans (leftover from last night) potatoes and gravy. I baked some buns from frozen bread dough....and bread pudding with half and half!

patti43-What is brown sugar meat loaf? DS was saying tonight that meatloaf sounded good.Every one's menu sounds delish! Peach pie and bread pudding.MMMMM
We had some hamburger patties left from a couple of days ago.DS was going to cook them on the grill but we didn't have any buns OR bread so I smashed them up to make them a little smaller and thicker and fried them in a skillet on the stove.Opened a couple of cans of green beans.All I had was one can of French style and one can of cut so I just mixed them.Then I seasoned them with salt,pepper and garlic powder.Took the lid off the garlic powder to sprinkle some in and dumped about a tablespoon into the beans! I had bought a different brand than what I usually use and this one had the flip top instead of the screw on one covering the little holes.I rinsed them off as best I could but they were still pretty garlicky.Didn't have any potatoes or rice but had a package of fettuccine noodles and a jar of Alfredo sauce so I made that as a side dish.It was pretty good and nobody complained.You can probably tell tomorrow is grocery shopping day!LOL
