I just posted to it and now can't find it anywhere. I think Nodakgal started it.

I don't know what happened to it, but I am so mad...

I've mentioned this before, but I'm going to mention it again. I am a slow typist. I spent a long time replying to Connie's original post. I told about all the cookbooks I had and got rid of and told about getting rid of my gooseberry patch cookbooks right now. I told about my Southern Living annual cookbooks and about a little plastic thing I keep inside my cabinet door in the kitchen. I also told Connie that I keep a recipe she posted in that plastic thing.
Then I took a couple of pictures of the plastic thing, put them on Photobucket, then posted them here. I also posted the recipe of Connie's that I use a lot. At the time she posted it, she said she had not tried it. My dh loves it.

After all that slow typing, just as I finished the recipe I started telling about cooking mine in a Nesco Roaster instead of in the oven. I was looking at the keyboard and looked up to preview the message and I saw where my computer was doing some kind of update. It said it needed to shut down and restart. I tried to copy the message, but the little update screen wouldn't let me. Once my computer restarted, I retyped my message, reposted the pictures and retyped the recipe. I was able to post it. Whew!!!, but now it's gone again. Welp, guess what, y'all are going to just have to always wonder what that litle plastic thingie is on the cabinet door that I like so much and Connie's recipe will always be a mystery to you, because I refuse to go through all that stress again. :)

Thank you both for your help with this :) I am running windows 7, IE 8. I tried out firefox the other week and didn't like it, just not used to it I guess, so I uninstalled it. I think that may be what part of the problem is as since then I have been having this issue. I downloaded the malwarebytes and ran it with zero findings. Same as with my McAfee and Spybot. I am current with all updates too. It is quite annoying, to post here today I had to keep clicking on pg 2 to get there and find my message and then keep clicking on it till it would finally open. It just keeps going back to the main page. I've never had issues here before in all the years I have been on here.

Last year I got rid of a couple of hundred cook books, but still have that many more left and then some. The past couple of weeks I've been going through and copying recipes from all my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. I didn't think I would ever part with them, but I am ready to and my dd and dgd will be getting those. I've been copying the recipes onto 4 x 6 index cards. I keep those in one of those photo storage boxes. I used to keep copied recipes in a three ring binder, but for some reason I quit doing that. I have a plastic thing that sticks to the inside of my cabinet door. It is for storing recipes I use fairly regularly and also for information that I rarely use, but want on hand when I need it. That would be at which temperature to bake potatoes. I never can remember that and also how much sugar to put into a gallon of iced tea. I use Splenda, but I have some relatives who want sugar, so when they visit I make it that way. One of the regular recipes I keep stored in the plastic thingie is one you posted Connie. You said at the time that you had never tried it. It is one of Bob's favorites. I really no longer need the recipe, but keep it handy just in case my little bitty memory fails me. I have the yearly Southern Living Cookbooks and I plan to keep those and a lot that have recipes from individuals in them. Those are my favorites. I also have tons of magazines that I will purge one day, but not now. I don't have time. Here is the plastic thing on the inside of the cabinet door. I wish I could find another one. Here it is empty. Here's the recipe you shared that I use often. Gravy Baked Pork Chops 4 lean pork chops Â¼tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/3 cup water 2/3 cup evaporated milk 1 can cr. of chicken or cr. of mushroom soup ( I use the cr. of mushroom ) Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper; brown in hot grease. Pour off drippings. Pour mixture of water, milk and soup around chops and bake at 350Â° for 45 minutes or til chops are tender. Stir gravy well. Serves 4 I cook mine in a Nesco Roaster and I usually bake at 275Â° for a couple of hours. I do that because I can put it in the roaster before taking Anna to her Martial Arts class and it will be ready when we get home. I always tell Bob if he smells something burning to add more water, but to the best of my knowledge he has never had to do that.

I was looking for reviews of washers and dryers when I needed to buy a new one. Google found the Laundry Forum. I don't think I even joined at that time - I just read what I needed and left for probably a few years. Then when I decided to remodel my kitchen I kind of remembered GW That Home Site had kitchen stuff too so I came back. Then I joined and became totally immersed in the Kitchen site for about two years. Once I was done with that project I drifted around to Cooking and some other places. Someone else from Kitchens who was done with their kitchen suggested KT. I checked in here for a while but didn't find I had much in common with most folks since a lot of people seemed to be retired. I probably still don't have all that much in common with a lot of people here but I now check in daily to see if there's anything going on that's at all relevant to me.

Well, I did get to read Linda's post and saw the picture of the recipe hanger thing (never saw one of those before!). Hope the post comes back up soon!

whispering... I use magnetic photo albums for my recipes - easy to put recipes in and easy to clean for messy cooks like me!

mscsippy (Linda), you collect Southern Living Annual Recipe books, too? I have 1997 through 2002. Still love looking through them. Which ones do you have? I had to quit--too many books of all kinds.

Patti, I have 1979 to 2000. I got double billed in 2000 and it never got resolved to my satisfaction, so I stopped ordering them. They are wonderful books though.
