Yes - I love Private Malone. It especially speaks to those of us who are the VietNam generation. Song hits waaay too close to home for so many people.

Gob Bless the USA and our servicemen and women who so tirelessly protect our nation.

The first Big 'n Rich song I liked was The Eighth of November, a song about a Viet Nam experience.

Private Malone is a great song, it gave me goose bumps the first time I heard it. I like story songs.

I love that song, " Private Malone ". It's been ages since I've heard it.

Linda

I am with all of you on "Private Malone"!

As a teenager I listened to SSgt Barry Sadler's "Green Berets". Now, I HAVE a son serving our country; when I hear Toby Keith sing "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" I get chills!

Read the lyrics and think about it!

American Girls and American Guys
We'll always stand up and salute
We'll always recognize
When we see Ole Glory Flying
There's a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head

My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Till the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flying in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of July

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shaking her fist
And the eagle will fly
And there's gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringing her bell
And itll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Ahhh Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue

Ohhh Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you'll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
'Cause we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shaking her fist
And the eagle will fly
And there's gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringing her bell
And itll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue

Uhhh Ohhh
Of the Red, White and Blue
Ohhh Ohh Oh
Of My Red, White and Blue

We, as Americans should be so PROUD to have so many young Americans ready and able to serve and protect our country so we can live as we do from day to day!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of my son for enlisting and willing to sacrifice his life for all us!

Next time you see a soldier...smile, shake his/her hand, give a heartfelt hug and above all.......say "THANK YOU"!!

All from a MOM with a son in the service!

Mombondo, I'm sitting here crying reading your post. I am not a parent, and I can only imagine how it feels to have a son or daughter in the service. But I do admire, and respect them hugely for the sacrifice they are willing to make for Canada and the United States.

I only wish I could see someone on the street, who is enlisted. I WILL run over and hug them and tell them what a wonderful job they are doing and how proud I have of them.

Yep, Toby Keith tells it like it is. He doesn't sugar-coat anything!

Private Malone, Letters from Home, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue are all great.
Our servicemen and servicewoman are doing a great job. God bless each and every one of them.

Another song I like to listen to "Keith Anderson" singing "I Still Miss You" very sad but so true.

SSgt Barry Sadler's "Green Berets" is a beautiful song. When I was on the air I used to play that as well as Country Joe & the Fish "Fixin to Die Rag".
