How Is Your Weather Today?

It is nice and sunny, very breezy and it is now down to 55. Not really warm out with the wind. We had quite a bit of rain last night. I did not feel up to driving out back and check the rain gauge. I have been doing laundry, going through things in my sewing room and piddling around in the house. I will be glad when I can get back to some sewing again. Is there anyone else sewing anything? Hope your day is good and tell us all what you have been doing?

ARGH! It's back up in the 90's... supposed to be only 89, but we have 93 right now.

Not that this stops me from anything.... I got back from a 55 mile bike ride a little bit ago, and am about to go out and mow my lawn.

A couple of degrees above freezing, they have a lot more snow in London than we have, about 15 mi. southwest. They're talking quite a bit of rain ... but it started to snow a couple of hours ago. That 25 - 50 cm. of snow that someone spoke of, translates into 10 - 20 inches for folks not on metric. I almost got stuck driving out the lane the other day, and was planning to take a heavy run at the bank thrown up by the plough on my return ... ... but the landlord had come and ploughed it all out of the way, so I could drive in the lane, rejoicing. He's really helpful at keeping the snow out of the way. I did get stuck while making a turn in a driveway in the city, a week or so ago, borrowed a shovel to dig myself out ... had told myself some time ago that I should carry a shovel in the car: evidently it was one of those days in which I don't hear (myself) too well. Anyway ... the next day, while leaving my place, I got stuck in the bank kicked up by the county plough at the end of the lane ... and laughed at myself for having neglected to put the said shovel into the car that morning, as I walked back to the shed to get it. It's there now ... and I was glad, this afternoon, as I got stuck again in what appeared to be a small layer of snow at the end of someone's driveway in the city when I was turning to take a friend where he wanted to go. Did a bit of shovelling, tried it again, little movement, so he, a very large guy, got out and pushed ... which got me out. ole jolyful

We have had snow off and on today. Right now I think we have about 2" accumulated. We are supposed to get 4-6. We also had rain today. I went grocery shopping today so no need to go out tomorrow. Most snow I have seen since last winter which is OK with me. It is kind of fun to see everything white for a change.

It is up to 64 now at 12:30. Partly sunny at times and breezy yet. I planted more radishes and some carrots in the garden and also pulled up the first five radishes out of my garden. That variety is French Breakfast. I am going to have them for lunch. The radishes I planted today are Crimson Globe. The carrots were Danver's Half Long. The day is getting better. It is cold. 23 right now at almost 1 p.m. Tiny little snow flakes falling. I had to be out early this morning to fill in for someone at the hospital. All morning, everyone coming in mentioned how cold it was outside.

Today's the first day of autumn and it's a pleasant 84 degreese and sunny today. We're supposed to go back up into the 90's but I hope they're wrong (and they often are).

I made an apple cake with caramel icing this afternoon. Watching/listening to football. Took a short nap. A quiet afternoon.

Moni--if I'd taken even a 5 mile bike ride, I'd still be napping!! That's one heck of a long ride.

Right now my weather here in Ohio is beautiful. Temps in high 60s, low humidity. This morning it was overcast with intermittent rains. Didn't get much, following the same pattern since last month of spring.

I cooked quite a few things today. I like having leftovers in the fridge and freezer. I experimented with my vegetable soup by making it in my pressure cooker. Don't know why but to me it's a flop.

Sue, if I were to do any sewing, it would have to be by hand. My 50 some year old machine doesn't work.

Beautifully bright and clear--but a tad warm. Upper 80's (I'd gotten used to our lovely 70's for the past week). But it was a nice day none-the-less. DD came for breakfast, then one of her friends met her and they went to the Amish market while I got lunch together. After, friend had to leave because she had errands and then she and her husband were going out to dinner for their anniversary. DD and I went halloween decoration shopping. Didn't buy too much for inside, but got cornstalks, gourds and a pumpkin for outside. Once we were down to the 2 of us, DH and I had a nice dinner out on the deck.

It is sunny but much cooler than it has been. Predicted high of 58. Tomorrow is supposed to be cool also and then a little warmer next week. I love it when it is in the low to mid 70s. I brought my gardenia plant in for the winter because we might get frost tonight.

Cool and sunny here in Long Island. My favorite kind of weather. Just returned from a walk to the local Farmers Market, got corn and a cup of coffee.
