We're getting rain right now and thunder. The thunder startled me at first as it's so loud. Our temps have dropped to where some of the rain may be a mix. A lot of counties are under flood watches. There's a lot of snow melt, plus the rains. I'm praying for no significant winds.

Southeast Wisconsin here. Snow, ice, later rain and 40-50 mile an hour winds. This winter just won't let up. In the insurance business and getting all sorts of calls for last minute flood insurance policies and water sewer back up coverage. Flood insurance has a 30 day wait and we also require 30 day wait on the water sewer back up coverage. People just don't understand that those coverage's aren't there for the occasional storms that put everyone at high risk for flooding and back up. Most people would add it then remove it after the storm moves through.
Can't wait for spring.

Cloudy here in Georgia some sun and the temp now at noon is 64 will go to mid 70's today. Stormy tonight between 7pm and 7am tomorrow morning.

Toronto - and not looking good. Snow is piled sky high everywhere and it has not been allowed to do a natural, slow melt due to the extreme cold we have been experiencing. Ontario is expected to get 25 - 50 cm of rain this afternoon and overnight - some of it freezing rain with very high winds. The rain will have nowhere to go except on top of the huge snow piles and flooding is expected. We live in a flood zone....but even people that don't are worried. I just wish the City had cleared the snow banks. Snow will melt from the banks on to the sidewalks and from the lawns on to the other half of the sidewalk - creating extremely treacherous ice as it freezes (and we are heading into another deep freeze) - and major puddles/flooding before the freeze.

Here in central Iowa, so far today we have had rain, thundersleet and now thundersnow. A blizzard will hit in a couple of hours. We expect 6 inches of snow and strong winds. I had precious Finn here until noon. He wanted me to look out the window with him at the rain and then the snow. He is such a cute character at 3 years.

West TN. Current temp is 73 with thunderstorms approaching. Severe weather is expected through 9PM, with a moderate risk for tornados. Been under a wind advisory all day (30-40 MPH with bigger gusts).

omgoodness! thunder-snow, from heavy to light, then not sure it was all rain or what I call "snane"...the streets are wet but they seem to be driving at posted (40)....

We were supposed to get lots of rain and T-storms, but it's snowing heavily instead. I guess my shovelling isn't over yet. :)

It's 80 degrees and sunny right now, but 55% chance of rain tomorrow. I had an appt. with my oncologist this morning. Appt. was for 10:45 and I didn't see him until after 12:15. He knew nothing about my upcoming surgery but he got on the phone and called a doctor he knows at Shands in G-ville so things should start happening now. I felt bad that he was left out of the ENT-Radiology-Oncology loop. Other than that, nothing new except my BP is great and I gained 2 lbs. :-)

Stopped by Sam's on my way home and bought a few things I couldn't live without including a small corned beef for St. Patrick's Day. They had Panera soup, too. So I stocked up on broccoli/cheese and also clam chowder. I love Panera's soups. I bought a box of Red Lobster cheddar biscuit mix and some shrimp for my sister when she comes for my surgery. She loves shrimp! I love just looking around at Sam's.

I am glad to hear you gained some weight Patti. Do you know when you will have your surgery? Wishing you the best.

Warm up isn't enough to melt the mountains of snow piled up. 2 months now and they still haven't been able to plow curb to curb yet. Spring is 30 days away, and there will probably still be icebergs down at the beach.

OldFixer--how have you been feeling. You haven't said much about your health lately. Hope you're okay.

A couple of degrees above freezing, they have a lot more snow in London than we have, about 15 mi. southwest. They're talking quite a bit of rain ... but it started to snow a couple of hours ago.

That 25 - 50 cm. of snow that someone spoke of, translates into 10 - 20 inches for folks not on metric.

I almost got stuck driving out the lane the other day, and was planning to take a heavy run at the bank thrown up by the plough on my return ...

... but the landlord had come and ploughed it all out of the way, so I could drive in the lane, rejoicing. He's really helpful at keeping the snow out of the way.

I did get stuck while making a turn in a driveway in the city, a week or so ago, borrowed a shovel to dig myself out ... had told myself some time ago that I should carry a shovel in the car: evidently it was one of those days in which I don't hear (myself) too well.

Anyway ... the next day, while leaving my place, I got stuck in the bank kicked up by the county plough at the end of the lane ... and laughed at myself for having neglected to put the said shovel into the car that morning, as I walked back to the shed to get it.

It's there now ... and I was glad, this afternoon, as I got stuck again in what appeared to be a small layer of snow at the end of someone's driveway in the city when I was turning to take a friend where he wanted to go. Did a bit of shovelling, tried it again, little movement, so he, a very large guy, got out and pushed ... which got me out.

The line of storms has moved on from us. It was not too bad. To turn colder and have wind all night and tomorrow. Keep safe those of you in the line of storms.
