The getting out was the worst part!

Air temp was 57, but water was a warm 85! Worst part was getting out with a breeze going!

At least we had a great workout!

What have you done, today, exercise wise??

The worst part of gardening is not being able to garden. We are selling our house, so I couldn't set up my seed-starting station in the kitchen and have not had the heart to plant spring things (peas, spinach, bok choi) in the garden because the real estate agent said my pea trellises wouldn't look nice. (She is obviously not a gardener.) I couldn't stand it anymore and went to the local landtrust plant sale this weekend and picked up some transplants so I can put in a nice garden next weekend. Spent today turning over the soil and tossing cutworms to the birds and haven't been so happy in weeks. I guess this summer I'll find out the *real* worst part of gardening, which will be leaving a garden you've worked so hard on to someone else.

There's the rub: no morning sun in my yard and 9 large maples planted just on the other side of my fence, exactly where I need them to NOT be. I can't remove those trees as they belong to the neighboring church. It's afternoon sun or no sun at all. On the bright side, it has been far milder for the last week and we had more rain in one day (Monday) than we had over the last 2 months. So far so good. Odd though, because mid-August is usually the most severe part of the season for us regarding drought & heat. I shouldn't be surprised--lol--the rest of the year has been Bass Ackwards, so why should it be any different now? :)

Thanks Melissa, Jle, Susanelewis, Suero and Jacobse, for your suggestions and comments. I bought my 22 yr.old house 4 years ago. No probs whatsoever with the exisiting 22 yr. old toilets. I'm having a tile floor put in the guest bath though, & was advised that now is the time to change the toilet if I think I may want to do so down the road. I hate to replace a trouble free, perfectly fine-looking toilet with something that gives me grief! I have frankly never used a plunger at this house or the at the 100 yr. old one I owned previously for 13 years which had toilets at least as old as my current ones. Have never seen a leaky toilet. Obviously, toilets have always just kind of been there in my life; a real non-issue. Now that I may need to buy one, & have started doing research, my eyes have been opened to the potential pitfalls of toilet ownership. How I yearn for the days when I never knew that a toilet could be such a troublesome loo! Nothing is simple anymore is it? Like so many things...they don't make them like they used to (for better and for worse.)

Brass-tacks - you have to be kidding! Shopping for fabric is THE best bit of sewing!!! I get that maybe you don't have many good shops in your area, but there are ways round that. There are lots of mail order companies that will send you sample swatches so that you can assess the quality of what you are buying. Have a look at this article from Threads magazine. Not all the links are good, but there are so many one should be for you! Best of all is to plan a vacation trip that includes some of the top fabric stores. New York being the obvious choice, but there are bound to be many other places. I have seen 100% camel hair suiting/coating at around Â£25/m about a third of what you were willing to pay! I put Finn in the stroller and walked 7 blocks to the park. I chased he around the play area and watched while he climbed and slid down slides. After we were worn out, I pushed the stroller 7 blocks back home. Chasing after an almost 2 yr old is the best exercise.

My girlfriend and I hiked through a woods and over a trail in a field for about an hour this morning. We were hunting for teasel pods plus getting our exercise. The exercise part was great but we didn't find any teasel! We use it to make natural Christmas decorations.

I rode my bike to work. Then worked, and finally rode back home. Not sure yet, what else is going to happen. Kinda tired right now.

I took my recyclables in,and went to the 99 cent store.I thought the cart was going to get away from me when i brought it to the car to load it up.That would have been a pretty picture!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NOT

Went to a weight lifting class. I normally go to the weight lifting class and then zumba but I skipped zumba tonight. Not I feel guilty. Guess I should have gone.
