Three days only this week, due to rain, but will get up for an 8:30 class in the morning.

I have pneumonia so it will be a while.

Our Community center is closed this week for yearly cleaning and maintenance :(

No gym or pool until Tuesday.

DH and I each do at least 20 minutes on the Wii Fit almost every morning. We've each earned our 'Gold Pig' -- the piggy bank of exercise minutes. I do aerobic stepping, short runs, the obstacle courses and the 'chicken flights' (not sure of the name of that one). Now that the weather is better, we can get outdoors more. I'll walk. He'll bike and stroll with our Westie.

Hi texasfern, thanks for the info - I know what you mean about heat. It's blistering here in summer too. The two bowls I am doing are also ceramic bisque fired. I got them at the thrift shop and just couldn't resist them since they were a nice big size of 15 inches in diameter. I didn't know what cone I could fire them to so I couldn't glaze them for fear they'd melt. So I decided to mosaic them. I should have used a plumb bob when I marked the center instead of just eyeballing it from above the rulers. I'll do better next time. I also work in ceramics - handbuilt pieces from slabs to Cone 10 thus far. You can see some of my work at the link and I have a ceramic blog under the same title. I took a ceramic bead class - now that's really fun, because beads are small and easy to deal with. Right now I am getting my kiln (skutt) connected up so I can do the ceramics at home instead of just at the college and a friend is building me a slab roller, but that is a whole other topic I guess. Do you seal your pieces after you grout them - particularly the birdbath? If so what do you use to seal them? How do they do holding water, does the grout stain or get any algae buildup with use outdoors? You've given me an idea about going to the tile store I used for remodeling my house (2 bathrooms and our living room) and seeing what they throw away. They threw away 4 pieces of slate when I did my living room right in the trash can - I wasn't doing mosaic then so I didn't even think about it. I could have done something really neat with all those pieces. And I have a wet saw - not sure how easy it would be to cut the pieces real small with a wet saw though - I might try it though. Well I have all my ingredients and tools set out to start grouting the turquoise bowl - so here goes. Wish me luck. Here is a link that might be useful: Blue Starr Gallery

Took Georgy for an hour brisk walk. Trying to drag myself out again but don't think I'll make it. Going to iron my table cloth and napkins and set the table for Thanksgiving.

I started walking with the puppy during the daytime last week. I only get a mile or two in because he gets tired and then I have to carry him. We try to get the kids out for either a walk or bike ride at night.

Since the weather has been nicer, I hid most of the video games last week and kicked the kids out of the house. They went out front and sat on the porch swing. It is too pretty for them to be couch potatoes inside. My 8 yo snuck the tv back on so I think that will be the next to go. We have had a few kids move into the neighborhood this summer so they've been playing outside more.

I didn't go for my morning walk with the dogs this morning, too tired. Get up about 4:30 to take the pup out to do her business, she doesn't want to wait:( Then I go back to bed and usually get back up around 7 and take the dogs for a walk. Or rather the pup takes me for a walk:)

I did go this evening though and added a little more distance so it was about a mile and quarter. Wish I had more stamina and less poundage and could make it further before tiring out.

I got in a good hours workout at the gym. I feel so good afterwards. I try to go 6 days a week.

Started walking at the park a couple of weeks ago. Am able to do two miles in 30 minutes now. (Have had a desk job for 30 years) Walking everyday. Can''t say that I'm enjoying it yet. Maybe that will come later.

Walked the dogs two miles and then went to the gym and did two more on the treadmill and lifted some weights.

Good week for me - 40 mins on my Airdyne exercise bike twice and 90 mins of tennis twice. Of couse it helps that I'm on vacation from work this week. I still try to get in exercise 4-5x a week but sometimes long days at the office cut into my plans.
