I was taking kitchen scraps to the compost pile when I saw this grasshopper. I went back and got my camera. He had not moved. Most of the time when something like that happens, by the time I return to the spot, the insect is gone!

Can't get a good frontal pic, but here it is from the side and then a little different angle where the size is more apparent. The owner disappears in an instant when I come near.

Casey I could sit there all day watching those waves. What an amazing place you live. Every day you post your pictures and I think wow how lucky to see such beautiful things and such amazing nature. I would haul my rv there if I could for a week or two lol.
