One fun thing about the start of a new season of TV shows.....

You get to see who all has had their lips plumped up and eyes tightened and necks firmed up and who knows what all they got done on their summer vacations. They never write papers on it, though. lol

I watched CSI:Miami last night. The actress who plays Callie Duquesne - I couldn't tell if it was the same lip job from last spring or if she had them done again, but they sure make her look different. Will big fat lips ever go out of style? I hope so, they're getting on my nerves. Her eyes looked tighter, too, and cheekbones were real taut.

This makes me crazy, I don't like wondering about "is it real, is it fake" I just wish they'd age naturally. She's such a pretty woman.

OH, I don't think David Caruso has had any work done. lol He's aging, and I actually respect that. Goofy guy. lol The way he holds and aims a gun just cracks me up. I can't get into that position no matter how hard I try.

I noticed one gal had her upper lip done so much that it doesn't move when she talks. Only the lower lip moves. In profile, the area just under her nose all the way to her lips is way puffed out because she built up the lip so much. Just looks odd.

No one looks as bizarre as Priscilla Presley on last year's Dancing with the Stars. She reminded me so much of a puppet when I was a kid. It was an older woman puppet and her face was cut in half horizontally. Priscilla looks exactly like that puppet.

In this economy I think many folks will be staying home more and will look to ways to save on food. Vegetable plantings is a great way to go. I learned many of my techniques simply watching shows like Gardening Naturally (thanks for helping me recall the name of that show Marg). In that show I learned more about proper composting, the use of manure, seaweed of all things, and other stuff. Sure it certainly may not appeal to all audience, but it was very imformative. Too bad we no longer have such shows. The new Victory Garden - well it's simply rehashed segments with a new host - Jamie Durie, a well known garden designer/landscaper from Australia. The show focuses mainly on designing on a grand scale - although it does emphasis green techniques, water conservation, etc.. It does have a small segment with Kip as the actual gardener and Chef Michel cooking the organic way. However it just doesn't have that 'Organic feel' to it. It seemed too Hollywood or too New Age. In my opinion -- good eye candy, not much on substance. There is good show on PBS - called Cultivating Life. While it is short, it does have everything, from building trellis, to planting, to cooking. It's good enough - although not close enough to the shows of the past. I've pretty much given up on watching shows on TV. There's hope however, and it exist online. Hi - new member here, and I enjoyed reading this thread. I've never been married, no kids, and got out of my last relationship 2 years ago. At times I feel like there's something wrong with me for not dating, and sometimes I do get lonely. But this thread helped me remember all the things I do like about being single and living alone! So here's my list of favorites: - I don't have to listen to Howard Stern in the morning anymore. - I can rent silly movies without having to listen to comments about it being "gay". - I can listen to anything on the radio, whether it's classical or jazz or country - I have hot pink accents in my bathroom, which never would've gone over with the ex-bf. - I eat a lot better because I don't have to work around his picky diet (ex-bf wouldn't eat a lot of the things I like) - I can stretch out in the bed, and can sleep late without anyone making comments - I don't always shave my legs or other body parts anymore, unless I feel like it I think the key, though, is that if you have a really GOOD relationship, a lot of these things aren't an issue. For example, my next boyfriend will not be someone who would call everything "gay" or criticize me or veto all my decorating decisions. At least I hope not.

Mine is a totally different style than what you are looking for but I'm sharing the picture because it's a great company to turn to for quality custom units. We looked at Hooker, and The Custom Shoppe was the same concept, but the quality was so much better. Everything readily available was too wide, and I didn't want a built-in. I haven't seen enough of the new shows this season to notice yet, but I'm sure you're right Flamey. It would be a darn good time for some of the actors to get a "job" done and have time to recoup. I'm just sick to see what some of them have done to themselves. Those Sturgeon lips and plastic looking cheeks are horrid.

The one who I noticed has a new? or different look is Paula Deen. I can't figure it out. Has she lost weight or had a face lift? Have any of you seen a difference or is it just my TV??

Kathy Lee Gifford was on this afternoon.
Her face is frozen.
Solid.

There is something to be said about a woman brave enough to age naturally.

The other odd thing I notice in men and women is the lousy dye jobs on their hair. The shoe polish black is so awful. They don't even look at their skin tones and see that they should not go quite so black or deep, deep brown. It is not flattering.

I watched The Women last week and saw Meg Ryan. She used to be so pretty but now looks like the Joker with those big lips and whatever else she did to her face.

just played the trailer... aside from the looks did you like the movie? it's the 3rd remake...i love the original made in 1939...

I'm waiting to watch Opportunity Knocks. I think it'll be a fun game show for families. On at 7:00 CST tonight.
