I posted a picture of Trinity on the "RIP Judy Chumley" thread. I don't know if everyone realized that Judy's daughter was making the post to let us know that Trinity TX has passed away.

She posted a lot at the MH and we knew she was having a lot of problems with her feet and had gone to the doctor for shots. She said that they were doing better and that she had learned to live with it. So her passing came as a complete shock to all of us.

This picture was taken when I visited with her a year ago in June. I cropped it out of a group picture that we had taken at a mini KT get together.

Oh,no, When i posted on the original post, I didn't realize it was our Trinity who passed. I'm so sorry, and I so enjoyed her posts.

I'm stunned at the news. I must have missed the other thread, thank you for posting. We lost a wonderful, dear friend, I am heart broken. My thoughts and prayers go out to Trinity's family and friends. This is such a huge loss. I'll miss you Trinity.

Troy, we have a similar set up. I also have strong winds blowing on the doors. I have a fan on the back wall, and the fan louvers bang open on windy days with the GH doors open. We also only used one screw on our roof panels, in the center brace (and extra clips.) I agree, thank goodness for the EMT bracing recommended by Gardenerwantabe and others here. Im coming to two new conclusions. First, I think you're right about the unsecured bottom of the roof panels being a risk in some winds, based on your observations of the roof panel bottoms flapping up and down, and bwrights experience of losing screwed-down roof panels twice. (Thats the first post Ive seen about the loss of screwed-down panels.) I taped the bottom of our roof panels to the greenhouse frame, but only because we were one of the "lucky ones" whose roof panels were not quite long enough to project over the gutter as shown in the manual. Not everyone has this problem, but Laserfan used aluminum tape to bridge this gap on his HFGH, so I did too. I was not trying to prevent the wind from getting under the roof panel bottom, but thats probably been (accidentally) protecting our roof in high winds. This also fits with bwrights comments about using the Freezer King tape to similar advantage, to make sure all edges are sealed. Heres our roof panel at the bottom edge: Second, Im starting to see the roof vents as a fairly big risk for people in very windy areas. My kit may vary from others, but the poly panels in my roof vents were a bit too short to prevent movement in the vent frame. They fit tightly from side to side, but after each window was assembled, we could slide the poly panel up and down in the window frame, about 1/4". During one bad storm, I almost lost the poly panel from one of the roof vents. The wind had pushed the panel up in the frame so the bottom edge of the poly was exposed, and the wind got underneath and pried the panel part way out of the vent frame. I climbed up and taped it to get through the night. Next day, we removed all four window vents, and I caulked each poly panel in place on the outside of the window frame. The poly panels no longer wiggle in the vent frames. But, I still have the problem of bad winds lifting up the vent frames up (maybe ¾"?) even though the vent handle is locked in the last hole ("closed down") position. Wind picks up the vent frame, and when the gust stops, the vent doesn't always fall back in place correctly, so it's ready to be picked up by the next gust. If this happens over and over again in a storm, maybe its enough to shake the window stop out of the hole in the roof vent handle...? Once that happens, the whole vent frame could flip over backwards until it popped out of the roof peak channel (I watched that happen while building the GH, retrieving one vent window from our house roof.) If a roof vent fails, wind likely rushes in and puts pressure on the weakest points from inside the GH. If all the panel screws hold, the doors become the next weakest point, so they blow outward. Thats one theory, anyway, and right now Im thinking the safest thing is to leave my vents wired down permanently, since I cant figure out how to prevent the frames from lifting up that 3/4" inch (or so) in a high wind. Wish I had a better solution, but so far Im stumped. I'll add some of this info to my HFGH blog in case it helps others. Thanks for all the good posts here! Not me in the picture. I grow wheat. If it ain't wheat it's a weed. :-( I take anywhere between 350-500 metric tonnes of yard trimmings each year and rotate the application between three fields. Some I use to make actual compost but 80-90% is applied directly to a fallow field. Carrie...I had a squirrel chew a really nice hole in a large rubbermaid container I had bird feed in. It was an incredibly perfect round hole up near the top of a three foot container. How the heck he hung over the edge of the lid to do it is beyond me. I hate squirrels almost as much as I hate rats. I saved this picture too. I loved it. I think you're right. I believe she was visiting her sister who had been dealing with health issues, maybe cancer. I think Trin felt it was her mom/ dad with them that day.

Two days in and I'm slowly killing PK's Texas Columbine and I don't know how to make it better. It is losing it's pretty flowers and some of the leaves look like they are dry and crispy. It got rain on Saturday and sun on Sunday and then I noticed it was dropping it's flowers. So I moved it to the shade. It seems like the leaves look dry, even though the soil is moist (but not soaked). and I watered it a bit more yesterday, so the soil feels damp but not soaked. Could it be it doesn't like the wind? I really love it and want to save it. Any tips would be appreciated.

She looks so young. Were the feet problems the result of diabetes? A shock for her family and friends that she went so quickly.

Susan as far as I know she wasn't a diabetic. I don't know what her foot problems were she never said that it could be life threatening and just said she would have to live with it. I have been going back to old posts on the other forum to see if I could find anything. The only mention she made of a condition was that she had neuroma.

Yes she was so young, too young to die.

Trin was a beautiful person inside AND out! She always made you feel good, never stupid and always seemed to have a "smile" in her posts!
She's been on my mind all morning. She is going to be someone I will never forget! Her posts about her family let you know how loved they were, her kindness toward everyone and animals were just an example of what a sweet and loving person she was. What a jewel we have lost!

I don't know if she had any idea of how loved she was at both forums, but I sure hope so!!

Trinity will be missed in every sense of the word.

I didnt get a chance to know her, but from her picture I can tell she was a *Beautiful* person, she had such a warm smile.
I am sorry for all that knew her, and wished I could have had a chance.

Thank you Nita for posting the lovely picture, and others for explaining what might have happened to her--I just can't imagine!! I too have been thinking of her all morning and just can't wrap my mind around the idea that we won't see her kind, sweet posts anymore. Nodakgal, you put it beautifully. I do hope her dd will check in again. I'm soooo sad today! Her family and friends must be devastated.

Oh,my goodness, I did not realize that Trinity's daughter was posting!! I thought Trinity was telling us that her mom had died and I responded accordingly. She was such a lovely, caring person and we will miss her greatly here at the KT. She was my Swap Partner a few years ago. I am still in shock! Thank you, Nita for posting this. Bettye/AZ

I am so sorry to hear this. Judy was a swap partner about 5 years ago or so. I still have the Texas light switch plate she sent me, it's been in use on one light since she sent it to me. This is so sad. (((Judy's family))

I'm so upset too. Remember when Trinity was worried about the dog next door that was being neglected? She kind of took care of it for awhile.

Kathleen, thanks for mentioning the post about the little dog. I remember that well.

She was far to young to have been taken from us.

I am shocked to hear this. I had seen the other post and thought it was Judy's mother that had passed.

It's amazing how close we can be to cyber friends. I'm so sorry and shocked to hear of Judy's passing.

What a beautiful lady she was - I am so glad you posted this picture of her. Look at that delightful smile and those happy eyes.

My deepest condolences to her family. I am so sorry for their very deep loss.
