One week to Go!!!

Next Saturday (6th) is the big art fest! I am so excited and nervous. They are expecting about 50,000 people to attend so I am hoping to sell lots of my art work. I just put the finishing touchs on my last painting so I am ready to go. For the fest I have (40) 8x10s; (20) 11x14s and (20) 18x24s. I also have over 100 Spirograph greeting cards made. For every purchase they will receive a free packet of cards.

Wish me luck and next Sunday I will let you know how it went!

Good thing I was so late to the party today or I wouldn't have had a clue. I love to use bubble wrap at school with my LD kids. I will give them a section and they can pop a bubble for each correctly spelled word, correct answer, whatever. Silly, but fun-don't we all get a kick out of popping it?! Never heard about how it was invented before. Fascinating. If that is it, I will definitely share the story with my kids! Another case of finding success from failure-love that!

Thanks for the tip Monica. This is our first time staying in St. Augustine so any good eating suggestions is helpful. So far our best dinner was the Manhattan clam chowder I brought frozen from home .

Thanks for the link to the online schooling. I just might consider having my son go online for high school .... Will have to wait and see how things go ... If we get an IEP and the school decides to cooperate, perhaps my son can stay in the public school. I'm going to be rocking the boat and stepping on lots of toes this new school year ....

Boston, week of Dec 17 - is there anything fun going on?

We'll be in Boston the week of Dec 17 to meet up with my 19 yo son who is currently out of the country but will be in Boston that week. That's the reason we've picked the dead of winter to visit Boston which otherwise I know would be crazy! It will be me, my husband, my 16 yo son and my 19yo son. Most of the tourist attractions I've been finding on the internet (other than museums) will be closed and I was hoping to get some good indoor ideas of alternative things to do. We will do a couple of museums but can't do six days of that! We'll be staying at the Mariott Copely, and don't plan to rent a car if we can avoid it. Also looking for restaurant ideas which will accomodate my vegetarian son. Thanks for any and all ideas, suggestions, etc!

Good luck, sweetie--and have a good time while you're at it. Just MHO, but I am more apt to buy something from a happy, talkative seller than one that sits on their a$$ acting bored by the whole weekend. So no matter how nervous you are--don't show it!

Thanks. Patti I'm just nervous because I have never been to this fest before. I've heard a lot about it though. Once I am there and set up I will be fine. Temps are supposed to be 53 degrees, sunny but at least no rain (for now). Will dress warm and have a thermos with me. DH is going to drop me off and then go home. No sense in him sitting there for 8 hours.

Oh...my other strategy is if they buy a large painting I will throw in a free 8x10.
