Morning From The Kennel Club!

Morning everyone. I have five dogs with me today. Of course Izzi lives here, but I also have Cheryl's KC as she is shopping, and Amber's 3, Harley, Angel and Lily. Amber is baby sitting today so that is why I have those pups. Everyone except Harley is sleeping and he likes to pace a lot. I also have scrubbed a good sized basket of the sweet potatoes from last season. I have a large kettle of them cooking on the stove. I will cook them about 12 to 15 minutes so I can take the peelings off. I am not sure what I am doing with them. Maybe freeze them. Mike will be digging up our new crop soon and I wanted to get these out of the way. Other than just house work I have no other plans for today. It is nice and sunny and 70 degrees out here in central Indiana. What is everyone else doing today?

It's a nice sunny day here too in the low 70's. So far I've coloured my hair, thrown laundry in, walked the dog and played here. Nothing else planned for the rest of the day. I have a job interview tomorrow morning so I'll go over my resume and think of some good answers to give them!

It's supposed to reach 91 here today with lots of sunshine. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for this morning. So I will be sleeping the afternoon away. I need to be packing for my trip next week but will do that on Sunday.

Thanks true-blue! I've been refraining from watering them lately. Unfortunately much of my patio gets watered each night by the sprinkler system. I think they're over-potted for the soil mix they're in, besides the limited sun. I think if i wanted to plant them directly into pots that large, it might have been wiser to start with a soil-less mix (at least that's what I've been picking up in the container gardening forums). But who knows? I can't undo what I've done so far, so for now I'm doing exactly as you suggested: I'm only watering them when they've completely dried out, and I'm giving them as much time as they want to get going. The only thing I might try beyond this is getting some sort of wick (even just a thin length of rolled-up paper towel) in through the drainage holes to help pull out more moisture. In the mean time I'm also hedging my bets. I've started germinating a couple new seeds at a time, and getting them going under artificial light indoors. If they get a really healthy start indoors, I hope to be able to acclimate them to the outdoor conditions later down the line. Originally my goal was a moderately lush border for my patio, but even if my morning glories become healthy, I don't have huge confidence they'll grow to be that lush. I've been thinking about what I might do further down the line, and I think I might try to focus on growing them in smaller pots the way you see in Japanese flower shows, and bordering my patio with another plant. Hi Everyone. Yes we did get the snow yesterday, about the same amount as you got, and I did try to take some pictures but it was so dark my cameras would not hold focus and I could only get decent pictures if they were within 10 feet from me. Here are some from yesterday, followed by a few from this morning. The sun was out and bright today so today's are crisp but now the snow is melted on all their favorite perches. As you said, it is early for snow around here. I will hope for better next time. As you know, it started as rain. The snow blew hard from the north and except when they were looking at me, the birds stared straight into it. This one looks like he was hit with a snowball. OK I'm sure you get the picture. (Pardon the pun.) Here are a few from today. Nothing special. They are just sitting there, probably waiting for meal worms. I don't normally show pictures that have the feeder cage visable in them but this guy looked so regal...

Kennel cough is like that of our colds, it is a virus and should be treated by a vet, tests need to be done to confirm it is a virus. You should alert the breeder, kennel cough is passed on because of unsanitary conditions. A dog that has the virus can pass it on by licking something, drinking out of a water bowl etc. The breeder should be notified not only to clean up the area but she may be able to help with expenses

We went to 2 loacation of Tuesday Morning yesterday and found some great deals. I bought 3 pkg. of charm squares and 2 jelly rolls. They are in retro prints and I will use them for outreach quilts for my guild. I also bought 2 books and 2 wallhanging kits (fabric and instructions) for out guild library raffles. Each month I have 1 book and 1 pattern. We sell tickets for $1 each and all the money earned goes toward new books and magazines for the library. We usually net $40 a month so not too bad. Thanks imn2crafts for posting about the great deals! Mary PS My friend said she would go down to NY with me but wasn't going to spend any money. She spent $100 at the first location and another $45 and the second!

I guess I could say, good morning from the Cat House! It's a gorgeous day in SW. Pa, so far....Sheets are washed and hanging on the line and I think I'm going to give the bedrooms a darn good cleaning, maybe....I might just pick up a book or my crocheting and that might be it for the rest of the day.....

Mush are you in the Niagara region?? That would be great if you nab that job!

It's overcast and rather humid here in SW Ontario. Thunderstorms are called for this afternoon. Yesterday was a sunny day, and I hung my white sheets out on the line.

Lots of dogs to fuss over today Sue!!!!

It is cloudy and windy here. I just walked Lila and am now headed to church to vacuum the sanctuary. Our custodian has a badly broken leg so they asked for volunteers to pitch in. I am going to keep the sanctuary carpet clean until Larry comes back to work. I will think of it as a good workout.

Home from Portland (visit to Mom and sister,) and looking at plenty of housework to do. It's rather warm and the air quality is terrible--I can feel it! So I guess that really forces me to stay in. But I'll have to hit the grocery store at some point and water some plants. I've never really had asthma before but lately feel something in my bronchials when the air is bad.

Did my usual 3 mile walk early this morning, then took Dino (my lab puppy) on several errands with me. Last stop, Starbucks for my daily frapp. We are expecting our 3rd day of temps in the high 90's so now getting all my outside work done before it gets too hot.

Sue, I'll be over for some sweet potato pie :)

Good evening! Sat around most of the morning playing games on the computer/reading and watching the news. Did some laundry, cooked/reheated dinner, picked the kids up from school and took Lauren to the dentist. We ate a little while ago and I'm doing dishes. I used the turkey fryer for frying chicken yesterday so I'm also cleaning that out.

Going to relax and later tonight watch the X Factor and another new show: Revenge...it looked good in previews. I don't watch much tv anymore except the news and a couple other shows. Not much good on tv anymore.
