Advise needed..............

Regarding Sandy's question of naming a new dog I need some

advice. I lost a Dobermen last October. Her Named was

Delhia and she passed at 8 years old. She was really my

son's dog but took to me instantly. I think I relate to

four legged animals better then I do to two legged.HA!

But I think I'm ready for another dog. I have an

opportunity to get a little dog...Shiz and Bichon from a

friend who can't keep it. She's about 2 or 3 year old her

name is Holly. My problem is my husband is againest it

he doesn't want a dog. I would walk it and clean up after it so I don't know what his problem is. I'm really resenting him right now. I really think its a power trip

with him and I'm P....d Off!! Any advice on how to change

his mind?? Thanks,Marilyn

Can you "dog sit" for a weekend and make him fall in love with her?

No,already did that this pass week-end. I should say my
friend is my son's ex mil. We went there to p/u my
grandson for the week-end and I took the dog back with us.
Returned the dog when we brought our GS back. He wanted to
return her not me.

In the Blue spectrum I would look into a lighter blue like Benjamin Moore Phillipsburge Blue. Its similar to the blue color you tried- just a bit lighter. Benjamin Moore Lehigh Green is a happy medium between the two greens you have already tried. Outside of the colors you did already I happened to like the Benjamin Moore Williamsbrg Wythe Blue. Its a pretty aqua/gray color.

you can put in extra pieces of wood to fit between the studs where the shelves will go. that's what I did w/mine. You'll have to redo the wall board, but not a big deal. can't really find a pic, but something like this. see the horizontal studs? you would place those between the wall studs, securely, exactly where your shelf will go. then the lag bolts will get attached to these horizontal pieces or, you can use something like this this might be easier, but it will cost more you attach the span portion directly into two studs. these come in diff lengths w/varying spaced holes.

Pretty much, if you ended up with a small amount of water in a completely different spot after a hurricane or nor-easter, possibly no issue. Same spot as previous complete BS. Sight unseen caulk usually does not fix basement leaks or leaks into a basement. Sounds more like a grade or flashing issue.

If I were to do anything it would need have flexibility . So start w solar shades maybe automated ....and then w panels you could pull across when you want more coverage. id take the picture into hunter Douglass and let their expertise have a go at it. This is an investment due to the size and central location . There is so much w automation w shades .., you can put it on a timer/ multiple panels on a single header etc interesting bamboos and textured fabric etc

The last time I wanted a dog, DH kept saying "we don't need another dog". Then he did something that really made me angry. I refused to forgive him unless I could get the dog. Needless to say I won. DH thinks Mickey is the greatest dog that ever lived. He even thinks Mickey is HIS dog. I always have to remind him "we don't need another dog." So, I guess the question is has your DH done something you can use for extortion? LOL

Not to defend your dh, but I'm the holdout in my family for new pets. It's because I don't want to be impacted by a pet right now. In addition to kids who will not be responsible enough just yet to take care of a pet, I just don't want the extra burdens like pet hair that gets everywhere and finding someone to take care of it when we're on vacation. And I'm just starting to get a little free time now that my youngest is in pre-K. Is it possible that your dh has some similar hangups?

The only advice I can give you is what happened in my case. I wanted this lil red doxie puppy sooooo bad! Ours would have been her 3rd home and she was 5 months old! She was cute and adorable as all get out! DH didn't want another dog, we had a Doxie at that time that was probably 17 years old. He didn't want to think of potty training. DD went and picked her up from my sister's house, who had her at that time. Bought her here to show us, she was here a few minutes and pee'd on the living room carpet. That was it for DH, nope no dog at least NOT that one! He said I want to get it younger and start with it right from the begining. I already loved this one and who knew how long it would be before we came across another? We live in the boonies, plus she was free!
A few days went by of me bringing it up more than once! LOL This was in May, Mothers Day was coming up plus my birthday later in the month. I about had DH won over and DD finally told DH either let Mom get the pup or I will give it to her for Mother's Day! He knew he was beat! LOL
Like I said she adores both of us. Maybe me just a titch more.(smart doggie) He loves her too and did the right thing by giving in! Bwaaahahaha

I hope you find a way to get her!
