Carol, yes, we went to the north shore of Mono. There is a long boardwalk down to a beach area and viewing platform (I visited the other shores last fall where there are a lot more tufas). Just as we were approaching the beach and viewing area, hundreds of shorebirds exploded into the air like nothing I've ever seen. We continued to the viewing area, wondering what would have caused such a stir ... when we saw it ... a large, wet badger strolling along the beach. Jodi-

Thanks, jemdandy. That place was one of my favorite hiking destinations in New Mexico. The shadow of the tree on the rock only happens in Summer when the sun sets in the northwest. It's about a mile hike from the road. We would go there when the moon was almost full, watch the sunset, build a fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows, then hike back to the road by moonlight. I'm adding another picture so you can keep her in your hearts They just found out she has cancer in her rib cartilage. CT scan in 2 weeks and operation 2 weeks after that. I've looked after her since she was a new puppy.

sealavender, my next door neighbor had that same pattern on her front porch last year. She drew it so her daughter could fill it in. It's pretty neat!!
