I am going to NYC to visit my daughter. We will probably get manicures; then she wants to show me an apartment in a new neighborhood that she is thinking of renting, and then have a really nice dinner out somewhere. Sunday morning we'll have brunch and I will take the bus back. Monday I may take a vacuum cleaner and dust rag to this house. Like Glenda's, the dust bunnies are taking over under my bed.

I'll set up the barbeque for one last cookout for me and DH. I'll buy chicken,franks and hamburgers. And deli salads. We still haven't finished cleaning the yard after Hurricane Irene. So I will have plenty to do this weekend.

Not really sure what we'll be doing Monday.

Hoping to make this weekend a relatively low-key one since DH has worked in the neighborhood of 65 hours since Monday. He definitely needs to get some rest in. And it's supposed to be raining off and on Monday, anyway. Maybe we'll go to Famous Dave's for lunch--a lot less trouble than bbq-ing ourselves.

My parents' retirement home will be having a really nice barbecue party, so we'll be going there. Looking forward to it!

My DH and I will be camping along with 2 other couples. Should be fun. It's supposed to be spotty rain and not very warm but a crappy day of camping is still better than a good day at work.

No plans, but I did manage to get 2 days off work, so I'll be relaxing here at home.

Most stores closed ... libraries closed (so I won't be on KT).

Labour, mostly, I guess - garden's way behind: weeds as tall as I, almost.

Was invited to a hog roast by someone a couple weeks ago; but I'm not sure if it is on Saturday or Sunday. Pretty sure it is Sunday, but forget if it was to begin at noon or in late afternoon. My memory is awful. I called and left a message asking for the info again. I do know that the meal is a potluck.

DS and his GF are coming on Sunday. They are on their way to Myrtle Beach and this breaks their trip in half. They'll be leaving some time Monday. They may stop on the way home, too. I also invited a friend whose wife died to join us. It's not going to be a cookout, just a nice dinner. That's it.

We have a party on Saturday night at a friend's house & next week DH & I are getting the house & yard ready for a party. We both are taking the week off. His DD (my DstepD) is getting married on Friday & asked us to host a party the day after for family, friends & out of town guests. We will have 13 or 14 people staying overnight on Saturday - a houseful!

I was going to be driving home to Houston from visiting DD, DSIL & precious baby granddaughter in Orlando, but TS Lee may make me postpone. They didn't want me to leave then anyway. I've already postponed the return trip twice! :-)

We don't like to go anywhere on holiday weekends. but my kids are going to the aquarium on Sunday and have asked me along. They have a great white shark on display. Last time DD and I went to see the shark they had we found it had been released that very morning. They don't exhibit for the people. If the shark is ready to go, it goes. So we are hoping to see this one. I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Saturday I will be in the kitchen preparing for the family reunion that we will be going to on Sunday. It is a 125 mile drive one way and we will be back home Sunday night. Monday we will be at home recuperating.

Nowhere, the roads are full with cottagers.

I was planning on buying a 1/2 bushel of roma tomatoes that are on sale this week. I buy a full bushel each year, and give a bunch to Mom. So I'm planning on a 1/2 bushel for this year.

The sale started yesterday, and the store didn't have them. There was a sign on the door saying that there's an extreme shortage of them.

We went this morning first thing to 2 stores, neither had any. I asked the manager at the second store and he checked, and they aren't expecting any in till Tuesday! There goes my Holiday Monday plans.

It's extremely hot and muggy yesterday and today, and supposed to cool down to 20 degrees on Monday which is when I was wanting to make sauces and roasted tomato soup.
Darn! I always give my step-father cartons of the soup for his birthday each year and he loves it.

I don't have to drive far, less than a mile down our country road; but that doesn't always mean I'll be safe. Traffic in the last 20yrs. has tripled on our road due to it being chipped and sealed, used to be a quiet gravel road.

I'm glad those that are working get this day off. Since I'm not around a lot of family or friends like in the old days it's just another day to me.

Saturday DH had to work and it rained all day. Sunday was cleaning day and we did have a bonfire that night (even though it was cold out)
today I went shopping and got some great bargins.
