I loved Me before you, I read it a year ago and I still think about it. I read From the Kitchen of Half Truths, someone had recommended the kitchen house to me and all I could remember was kitchen and I borrowed the wrong book. Anyhow I really enjoyed it, it was a quirky story and set in England, but I really liked it. My girlfriends and I started a trashy book club, so my current reading choice, I am too embarrassed to share. Lol. I also read The Fault in our Stars, the movie is being released this weekend. This was meant to be for young adult readers, but I must admit I really loved it. Now after reading this thread, I must go update my list on goodreads, I need to read a few substantial books in between my selections from the book club, hehe, to balance my brain a bit. I went to see the movie of The Hunger Games over the weekend. Heartily recommended. Excellent acting and unusual restraint for Hollywood in handling the violence of the story. I guess they wanted their PG-13 rating but IMO it made for a better movie. I had read the first two books in advance, and am now in the middle of Mockingjay the final volume of the trilogy. I am just about to get in the car and drive to the post office to mail Maddy Clare back to Pam. Thanks for circulating this book! Rosefolly

Hi Karalk, You have named a few of my favorite mystery writers so you and I may have similar tastes in mysteries. I thought of a few you may enjoy: Anna MacLean has a new series whose main character is Louisa May Alcott. I was hesitant at first but really enjoyed it. The first title is Louisa and the Missing Heiress. Emily Brightwell's Mrs. Jeffries series is light and fun, very "cozy". I only suggest them because they are good in a pinch. I cannot read them one after the other because they are quite formulatic. But I like the characters. Rhys Bowen's "Lady Georgiana" series, the first is Her Royal Spyness. There are five in this series with the sixth due out in September. A "new-to-me" author named Ann Purser. She has two mystery series out, but the only one I've read so far is Hangman's Row Enquiry. I put her on my TBR list for my twice-weekly library trip. Barbara Hamilton (aka Barbara Hambly) has a two series out, but the only one I've read is the one "starring" future first lady Abigail Adams, set in 18th century Boston. It is entitled: The Ninth Daughter. Of course, M.C. Beaton's Hamish McBeth series is always a favorite, Elizabeth Ironside is a new favorite, Kate Sedley is a great mystery writer whose books are set in the middle ages, Sedley has about 20 in her Roger the Chapman series and I still feel that she cannot write fast enough for me! Thanks for the notice - I'm so excited to hear this - I just plopped down my $2.99 for my Kindle version. I've been away for 10 days and Microsoft wouldn't let me access my Hotmail account which is where all my book announcements and retailer advertisements are sent. I had 852 emails from a variety of merchants from Amazon to Zulily. I just sat and deleted the majority of them and of course realized that I don't really need to know which sweaters are on sale at Talbot's or that the Smithsonian has free shipping with only 2 hours remaining..............and on and on. It was the perfect reminder that I need to unsubscribe from most of them. And I need to update my Amazon settings - some days I get 4 emails about Kindle books.
