I was taking kitchen scraps to the compost pile when I saw this grasshopper. I went back and got my camera. He had not moved. Most of the time when something like that happens, by the time I return to the spot, the insect is gone!

Gazania, I loved your turkeys!! I think it would be a hoot to see that many in my yard and I'm pretty sure that Fred would just go bonkers. LOL We see one every now and then in the woods where we ride, but I don't get them in my yard!! Cool picture.

For Bob, to go with his other story today. I had these two little visitors and I called animal control. They would not come out. They said to leave them alone and mom would be by to collect them. Well, the next day, when they were sitting under a car out in the street, no mom in sight, I invited them into a cat carrier and took them down to the bike trail which is a very heavily wooded area. They scampered off and I'm sure lived happily ever after. Certainly happier than if they had remained in my yard or out on the street.

When on a cruise, the ship's staff offer excursions in each port. One of those excursions is the Nautilus Submarine Adventure. There is one in almost every port in the Caribbean. This is what the inside is like; I was about half way. There is running commentary and each participant has a porthole to look through. OK, I did it once; no need to do it again.
