Has anyone heard from marilyn c ? It looks as though the storm is headed her way. I pray she will be safe. vique.

According to the Meeting House forum, Marilyn had pneumonia recently, and hadn't posted. Hope she is on the mend and can weather the storm. She said she would rather stay put than be on the highway getting out of town!

I'll probably go spend the night at a friend's house near here, so I can get back in to see about the horses. My husband is on the tow boat, so I'm on my own this time.

Is there anyone who can help you? I know you're a tough cookie, but this is such a lot of work, with the worry piled on top. Will you be able to stay at your house? Hey Marilyn, I'm wondering if you or we can SOS a group to help you get your animals to higher ground, if they are threatened; you mentioned your horses are standing in water. There are so many people ready and willing to help in any way they can, from what I hear. Is this a silly idea?

Thank you.....that was a very sweet story. I am glad Oscar came home. Someone probably took him, and he eventually got loose and came home. Donkeys are very different than horses....very much more like dogs. It doesn't surprise me that he came back when he got the chance.

I've been thinking of you too Marilyn. I see where you posted on 3 things (yesterday I think) about getting ready for Ike. Prayers for you and DH. Being on a tow boat must be scary too.

((((( Marilyn )))))) I've been thinking about you. Before reading this thread I was hoping your dh was there with you. I'll pray for your safety as well as the safety of your dh and your animals. Prayers also being said to all people affected by these hurricanes.
I hope you are feeling some better healthwise too, Marilyn.

I just came to the KT to see about marilyn. I knew someone would have asked about her by now.

Marilyn, you and all you care about will be in my thoughts till Ike is gone. Sure hope it passes you without too much harm.

Of course all others in Ike's way are in my thoughts also, Stay safe everyone!

Chocolate Bayou where Marilyn lives is in Brazio (sp) county, which is under mandatory evacuation orders tonight, except for two towns. I hope Marilyn is on high ground if she stays. Tough to evacuate and leave the animals. Ike is looking like a real bear.

Marilyn's safety was the first thing I thought of this morning. I'm so worried about her and all the animals. Stay safe Marilyn, we love you.

I am home doing a few last minute things. When the weather starts to kick up, I will leave and go spend the night in a nearby town with Nara, my fellow wildlife rehabber. As soon as the storm is over, I will be back here...no matter what the conditions. I will be okay. I ask you to say a prayer for my animals.

Adding my best thoughts and sincere hope that our friend Marilyn, her home and all her critters come through this awful thing in one piece. When it is over I will be parked her at the KT, looking for word from you my friend. Please be safe!
