That first quote keeps churning over in my mind. It just invites you to translate what it suggests. I like those kinds of quotes. They are like open-ended questions. If you've ever been in a group of humanity, thrown together by happenstance, you'll notice that inevitably the whole does not remain homogeneous. Humans tend to coalesce into clumps. What draws them together, I suspect, is that most of us seem to gravitate toward others in whom we detect something familiar, something we know lies within ourselves. It's not always obvious to other people, but we recognise it, and we seek it out. In that respect, the quote is true........you are known by the company you keep and it defines you as well as your relationship. We aren't always accurate, however. LOLOL. I know in one of my marriages, I just awoke one morning and asked myself, Oh God, what have I done? This person, in whom I found so many commonalities, and so many keys to fit my empty locks, after I unpeeled all the layers to the onion, found something very foreign at the core. I guess what I am saying is, that's what makes or breaks a bonding of human spirits........what's at the core when you finally reach it.

1. Not really funny, but I lost my wallet containing almost $400, the credit card of the elderly man that I look after, and all my other essentials. It was returned to the police department. The lady never took a dime. (I sent her a $100 gift card as a thank you.) I was most happy to get back my little handful of trinkets that I carry with me in a zippered compartment...just little odds and ends of old jewelry, a couple of marbles including a clay one that my husband found here in the pasture, little do dads of all kinds. 2. I wrote the Raccoon Story about my favorite raccoon, Cancun. Several years ago, dogs attacked and scattered all of the raccoons here. Altho I continued to put out food for the raccoons, I never again sat out to watch them. I cried for 6 weeks because some of them I was so attached to. I found out my very favorite, Cancun, is still here. I noticed her when she came near me when I was feeding the possums. Now she comes close every evening. She has to be at least 12 or 13 years old. She looks good to be so old, and it is so good to see her again. 3. My husband, age 62, got his first job ever. He is a tow boat captain now...had been self employed as a commercial fisherman before that, but due to imports and high cost of diesel, couldn't make a living at it. So, we were fortunate that he could find something he could do, at an age when most people retire, and it pays well. He is gone for two weeks at a time tho. None of the above are funny, but a little odd, perhaps. After I post this, I will probably think of funny things but right now, my mind drew a blank.

A house with an inlaw wing and a small guest house on the property. I would have a middle section of our entertainment center custom made so a larger tv would fit into it. Probably a new vehicle. I've often thought of things I wanted to do for friends, family, homeless or abused animals etc, but never put much thought into what I would buy for myself. I had to think about that one. I am not wealthy, but obviously I am already blessed.
