1. While looking for lost keys in the sofa cushions, I found a penny. Not just an ordinary penny; a 1943 steel cent! And the sofa is only a few years old! I later found out that my wife had dumped everything out of the lockbox she keeps the checkbook and other valuables in looking for something. It must have slipped out. Darn!

2. Was supposed to go on strike a week ago; we settled.

3. All I can think of right now.....

1. Not really funny, but I lost my wallet containing almost $400, the credit card of the elderly man that I look after, and all my other essentials. It was returned to the police department. The lady never took a dime. (I sent her a $100 gift card as a thank you.) I was most happy to get back my
little handful of trinkets that I carry with me in a zippered
compartment...just little odds and ends of old jewelry, a couple of marbles including a clay one that my husband found here in the pasture, little do dads of all kinds.

2. I wrote the Raccoon Story about my favorite raccoon, Cancun. Several years ago, dogs attacked and scattered all of the raccoons here. Altho I continued to put out food for the raccoons, I never again sat out to watch them. I cried for 6 weeks because some of them I was so attached to. I found out my very favorite, Cancun, is still here. I noticed her when she came near me when I was feeding the possums. Now she comes close every evening. She has to be at least 12 or 13 years old. She looks good to be so old, and it is so good to see her again.

3. My husband, age 62, got his first job ever. He is a tow boat captain now...had been self employed as a commercial fisherman before that, but due to imports and high cost of diesel, couldn't make a living at it. So, we were fortunate that he could find something he could do, at an age when most people retire, and it pays well. He is gone for two weeks at a time tho.

None of the above are funny, but a little odd, perhaps. After I post this, I will probably think of funny things but right now, my mind drew a blank.
