My ex bought me a 57 Chevy. He bought himself a Malibu convertible, what does that say?

Yes the nicest car I ever had is my cadillac escalade,red I love it now hubby said when I get kidney transplant hell get me a new one Anybody want to help me get it faster?I need an A or an O blood type...

Our family car is a 2003 Subaru Forester that has 213,000 miles on it and still runs like new and has had no major maintenance save for changing the battery 3 times, the brake shoes and pads once and 4 or 5 sets of tires. It has a remote starter and has never failed to start with the remote in summer or winter.

Now if you want to see the car that I am most impressed with try this one, an 1893 Stanley Steamer that is still running fine.

Glenda, I'm guessing the '57 Chevy is now worth more than the Malibu. Therefore, I'd say your ex either cared deeply, or he made a mistake. LOL

My 1984 Buick LeSabre Limited that I bought new and drove for just over 20 years. It had 95,000 miles on it; I gave it to a friend, and he drove it for another 3 or 4 years. It was never in an accident, and looked new, inside and out when I gave it away. That car drove and rode like a dream. (This picture was taken when it was 20 years old!)

We have collector cars too I thought you meant now.wehave a 1949plymouth,it has a sticker its gone as far as it can in car shows,a1937 ford coupe most were chopped for races in 60s.all original,and a 1941 dodge power wagon hubby restored,looking for a 1967 ford mustang fastback.

no picture, but a funny...at costco's sunday getting gas...an awesome chevy ss restored down to the tires, bright lime green, looked FAST! then at the same time dh and i burst out loling....it had a handicap licence plate!

My most favorite 'car' would not be a car at all..it would be a motorcycle. First our '93 Goldwing and the '88 Goldwing. I had to give up riding in 2000. Dh sold the '93 in 2001, saying, "Riding was no longer any fun without his "travelin' bag".

If it has to be a car, then it would be a toss-up between my 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE, long gone, or our sweet little 1979 AMC Pacer (Miss Donna) who is currently getting a leak of transmisson fluid fixed so she can go to a cruise this weekend.

One of my favorite cars was my '68 Dodge Dart GTS, 383 4-barrel, four on the floor!!!! I loved that car but it got to the point that I had to let it go. I couldn't afford to keep it any longer. Finding someone to work on it was a chore so I sold it in 1984. Right now we have a really fun car, 2008 Mini Cooper S! Another standard, that lil baby runs like a champ!!

Almost worth a trip to St. Thomas or Cuba to visit some Golden Oldies. Do y'all remember how big and heavy those doors were on a coupe? You probably can't get out of one in today's narrow parking spaces.

My favorite was my blue Austin Healey 3000. WHY did we sell that car!

Happy now with a silver 2005 Jaguar X-Type VDP -- about to turn over to 20K miles. Better sound system than in the house; nicer leather seats too. lol

Yes! And I remember opening the huge door of my 1971 Caddy Coupe deVille on Main Street, and the wind yanking it out of my hand and straight into the path of a car that was coming up from behind me. Smash!

To this day I tend to hang on to doors longer and harder than I need to.

My first car was a 10 year old Studebaker Lark. Loved that car--bought it for $85, it was solid as a rock and got me back and forth to school for quite a while.

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser--what a FUN car. One day--when I'm rich, I'd love to buy one of the old FJ's that these new ones were inspired by, and have it totally restored.

We just finished restoreing a 66 mustang convertable, (sorry still haven't gotten the skill to post pictures here)in fact we are leaving tomarrio to go Reno, for Hot August Nights, a big week long car show with lots of festivities. Will try to post pictures later. My bew baby is red, with white convertable top, and red/white interior..

I love black sporty cars (and my DH loves to wash them!)
I've owned three of them (black cars, not husbands LOL).
One 1978 Datsun 280Z and two BMWs, 1998 and 2009.

This is not my black Z but is very similar.
My Z had much prettier chrome true-spoke wheels and louvers in the back window and no spoiler.
Very sweet ride. I can still remember the first time I stepped on the accelerator.

Ooo, cool 64 and a half is the real deal and collectors love it. I hung out with three boys in high school who were really into Mustangs. One had a 64.5, one had the Mustang Shelby and one had a Mustang GT/CS California Special. Lots of testosterone there. LOL

We sold our 64 1/2 Mustang when our eldest son started driving. He was mighty disappointed when he inherited my old station wagon, complete with contact paper on the side. But the Mustang was not a good car for a teen to drive- no air bags but we did add new seat belts.

It was black with red interior - and a convertible. My DH was very sad the day his car left home.

Oooh......Love the 3000 GT.....and the Datsun (they stopped making those, yes?)......and the Mustang (even without a picture). I must have extra testosterone, too!

I liked my 1965 metallic blue Mustang convertible. Should have kept it.

I had a '65 metallic blue mustang convertible as well. Loved driving it. Sold it to my sister who promptly wrecked it!

In 1969 we bought a beautiful candy red Ford Bronco. Beautiful vehicle. We had almost 2,500 miles on it and my hubby totaled it. He darn near lost his life.. Bought another one exactly like it. I am a really short gal so right now I drive a wildfire red Chevy Tracker. It is a perfect little ride for me.. Easy to get in and out of, easy driving and a perfect size for an old lady..

My first car was a 1966 Chevy 2. A sweet car. I paid $650.00 for it and we sold it for $950.00 2 years later to go towards our Bronco.

I never could afford a "dream" car, but my best liked, all around family car was the 1964 Dodge Dart, Automatic, with the 264 cubic inch V8 engine. I drove that one to 100,000 miles and would have kept it longer except the body was rusting out due to our winter laden salted roads and I needed a replacement for our growing family.

It had a good balance between power and economy, a smooth running trouble free engine, and was a good long distance driver. Visibility was good.

What was unique about it? This little V8 was based on the larger 318 engine, but had thin wall castings for weight savings. Many of the internal parts were interchangeable with the 318: Crank shaft, cam shaft, cam chain, distributor, and oil pump. The spacings between cylinders were indentical so the engine could be made on the same line as its big brother 318. The pistons were smaller but the designers used a large heavy wrist pin to make the piston-wrist pin combination weight the same as the larger engine. That way, both engines could be run on the same engine balancing line.

The all time most smooth engine I ever owned was a 1954 Dodge Red Ram V8 (its a hemi). It was not a particularily powerful engine, but so very smooth and quiet. One day, we were shuttled into a roadside safety check. The officer made the inspection and laid his clipboard on the hood to make the final entries, AND the he asked me to start the engine. The enigine had been running all the time. I had to jazz the throttle to convince him. He did not feel it while writing on his clipboard which was on the hood and he could not hear it over the street noise.

My favorite was a 1972 VW 411 sedan. That little car could zip around the traffic in Pinellas County like nobody's business. We bought it from friends who had inherited it. We didn't need it, but it was so darned cute. At least to me. We had it painted and reupholstered and I kind of took it over. I'd never really had a car a liked so much as that one. If I found one for sale, I'd grab that baby up in a heartbeat!
